<html>A 36-year-old Mesquite woman was arrested Friday evening by police detectives and charged with several felonies in connection with allegedly trying to collect money by falsely claiming one of her five children was suffering from a rare form of liver cancer, a Mesquite police spokesman said.Shawnanna Starr Guerrero Flores was charged with felony fraud,[http://www.0gz.net/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=333759&fromuid=3190 Fans taking in Packers game Sunday are happy football is back], obtaining money under false pretenses, felony child abuse and felony theft after being questioned by detectives Friday afternoon and evening about allegations her son Rodrigo Quintero did not have liver cancer as she had been claiming for the past several weeks, said Mesquite Police Detective Sgt. MaQuade Chesley, public information officer.Flores was first held in the Mesquite detention center and was to be taken to the Clark County Jail in Las Vegas over the weekend, Chesley said. Bail had not been set at press time.?A benefit car wash was held Aug. 24, at the Rebel gas station, where many community members donated time and supplies in an effort which raised $404,? Chesley said. ?A fund was established at Wells Fargo Bank and money jars were placed in businesses around Mesquite. There were also future benefit fundraisers scheduled within the community to assist the child.?Clark County Child Protective Services worked in cooperation with the Mesquite Police Department during this investigation,? Chesley said. ?Additionally, Child Protective Services is continuing their own investigation into the fraudulent scheme involving the child.?The sergeant told the Desert Valley Times (DVT) the felony child abuse charge stems from the fact that 7-year-old Rodrigo apparently was led to believe he really has a rare deadly cancer that very well might prove fatal. Shaving his head and the heads of the entire family was apparently a ruse to bolster Flores? false claims. The possibility that Rodrigo wasn?t as ill as his mother claimed first came to light this week when organizers of a Mesquite fundraising effort called ?Carnival for Cures? dropped him from its list of beneficiaries because Flores failed to provide requested medical evidence of Hepatoblastoma (liver cancer). Additionally, the Eureka Resort Hotel and Casino, which was scheduled to cater a charity dinner for Rodrigo Saturday night at Playoffs Sports Pub and Pizzeria, also pulled its support because the lack of medical documentation.(Page 2 of 2)<br>The other four individuals scheduled to benefit from Carnival for Cures readily submitted medical proof of their afflictions when it was sought, said event organizers.?We have to have documentation to move forward because there?s a lot of businesses helping us,? said Blanca Villarreal,[http://www.dianlv.cn/www/show.php?aid=155667 Videos show glimpse into evidence for Syria interv], an event organizer who helped form Carnival for Cures.?The reason for our decision is that we have been unable to receive basic, minimum medical documentation from Rodrigo?s mom, Starr Guerrero Flores confirming her son?s diagnosis of Hepatoblastoma,? the event committee said in a letter quoted in a Desert Valley Times story Friday.Despite mounting doubts and criticism from several fronts this week, Flores repeatedly insisted her son had liver cancer and for days vowed to supply a written diagnosis from his doctor. Flores went so far as to send DVT reporter Jesselyn Bickley at midnight Thursday the name of a real southern Utah doctor who she claimed had diagnosed 7-year-old Rodrigo with Hepatoblastoma.During their investigation,[http://indianbigchief.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=99885 Cowboys Corner- DeMarcus Ware's shoulder is healed], police apparently were able prove that claim false.Flores, her husband David Pitts and the entire family, which lives in a small Mesquite apartment on Moss Drive, last Monday shaved their heads ?in support of Rodrigo,? who they claimed was losing his hair because of a pill form of chemotherapy. Again, it appears Flores went to extreme lengths to allegedly hide the fact Rodrigo did not have cancer. The only medical information Flores provided to anyone, including the DVT, was a report that said Rodrigo has a ?1.4 cm enhancing lesion within the left hepatic lobe. Differential considerations include hemangioma, ademona or focal nodular hyperplasia.? (None of these ?considerations? are cancerous conditions.)Carnival for Cures and the Playoffs dinner were only Flores? latest attempts to get money. In addition to the car wash,[http://deardearbaby.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=354262&fromuid=8105 NBA Most Hyped- Nikoloz Tskitishvili's dramatic disappointment], a local garage sale was another recent event to benefit the youngster.Chesley said Friday night police were unable to conclusively link any others to the alleged cancer scam including Pitts,[http://wiki.observedapp.com/index.php?title=%E7%94%A8%E6%88%B7:Rovahomoimi#IOC_wants_Armstrong_to_return_Olympic_medal IOC wants Armstrong to return Olympic medal], Flores? husband. He added that if ?anyone from the general public has further information and/or donated money to the Rodrigo Cancer Fund, please contact Mesquite Det. Ron Richmond at 702-346-5262 ext. 6032.? Page</html>

152,440gE How many Roku models are there? Like, twelve? But it doesn't matter: the newest one is here, and thankfully (predictably?) it's the best one yet. So good that you'll stop using other crap you own. So good you'll use your cable box less. That good.
 +
is very, very simple. It's more or less like every single other Roku: a little black thing you plug in to your TV that'll deliver streaming media (Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Spotfiy,[http://lag.coeurlumiere.com/index.php/topic,124546.msg202563.html#msg202563 Pembroke Park resdient Matthew Murphy mocks deputies about dougnuts while being], et al.) on demand. The Roku 3 is still very much this same thing—but it's reached a critical mass of how much stuff you can stream and how easily you can stream it. So much so that it really feels like an entirely new Roku. So much that it'll make your TV fun again.

Design

It's a tiny black puck like all the other tiny black pucks. You need to plug two cables into it, tops. It's stupid simple, and yet with its slightly rounded, upturned edges, the Roku 3 manages to look slii-iightly cool looking—enough to point out, anyway. The purple tag is still cute.
 +
But really, this is a tiny charcoal puck you're going to put next to your TV and probably forget is even in the room with you. Which is exactly what you want.
 +
Using It
 +
It's the same old puck on the outside, the same shade of black, the same gloss, the same size, the same old remote in your hand, and the same hardware features—ethernet, USB input,[http://hummerbox.ru/node/20505 Four face death for 'cold], 1080p output, etc.—as ever. And it streams all the same old channels—all 700ish of them. None of that matters.
 +
What matters is a completely hatcheted-apart, lovingly rebuilt interface with virtually no resemblance to what came before it.
 +
Gone is the exhausting horizontal row.
 +
Now there's a grid. It's a lot like Apple TV's grid, only a lot more thought has been poured into it. There's not just a grid—you'll always have two chunks of visual information in front of you. Maybe it'll be a grid view of your saved channels—nine visible at a time—with options like Search and Settings to the left.
 +
Or if you go to add new channels, you'll have a list of categories on the left (Sports, News, etc) and the channels that belong to those categories on the right. Everything flows so smoothly that it never takes more than a few clicks or pushes of the directional buttons to do anything you want to do, and it's always clear what part of the interface pushed you to another part. You'll rarely get lost. You'll know where to find your stuff. And you'll probably end up watching more enjoyable stuff because it's easier to find.SLikeRoku beat Google TV without even trying. The new interface makes the prospect of navigating hundreds of channels—thousands and thousands of shows and movies—a non-nightmare. It makes streaming music on Spotify or Pandora a cinch, without horrendous Android app residues. And lo: for the first time, search on a TV isn't a convoluted horror. Gone are the confusing duplicate results of Google TV. Type in something you want to watch, and if one of the Roku channels you use has it, it'll be listed. You're not flashbanged with options. It's simple. Roku insisted on keeping everything simple. And this is what matters: the interface is everything. Everything. There's simply never been a better way to watch stuff. No LikeMost of Roku's 700+ channels, just like most apps, most art, and most people who raise their hands to comment in class, are terrible. Obscure junk that nobody really needs or wants. But while Roku's gone for volume over quality, none of these worthless channels are foisted on you. Just choose not to install WealthTV 3D or The Man Channel or Asian Crush Plus. It'll be as if they never existed. No loss. What might be a real loss, though, is the richness of Roku that you can only hit if you're spending a non-insignificant amount of money on subscriptions. I have a Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, Spotify, and a Time Warner Cable account. This yields me all the streams from all of these companies—and man, having 300 channels of live HD cable TV is a dream—and really makes my cable box feel stupid and senile. If you're signed up for fewer of these services, you won't have the same Oh My God, Here Is Everything media experience, but frankly they're largely redundant, and you can get away with much less than I used for testing. But keep it in mind: the Roku is a thing you pay for that just reroutes things you also pay for, albeit in a lovely way.SShould I Buy it?Do you already have a current Roku model? Yes? Then no,[http://social.smamda.sch.id/ Abbott chief escapes drink driving fine], you shouldn't buy it, because the Roku 3's interface will be made available for all the older models Roku sells today starting in April. And those Rokus all have perfectly acceptable hardware. The 3 has a faster processor and the remote has a headphone jack that's very nice for being a considerate roommate or neighbor during quiet time, but really, all that matters here is the UI. I promise you, Existing Roku Owner,[http://igbokaa.com/view/post:1274952 iPhone 5s, iOS 7 release anticipated at Tuesday Ap], that your old processor will be good enough, and that you'll survive having to maybe wait a few extra second to get to an old episode of Community.Do you not have a streaming box of any kind? No? Then buy the Roku 3. It's better than the Apple TV, unless you're addicted to mirroring from your MacBook or iPad. It's better than any Google TV, although that's pretty much an award for bothering to put on your shoes at the baseball game. It's the best Roku of all time, it's only a hundred bucks, carries nearly every conceivable form of streaming media (except YouTube, blerg!), and is tiny and cute. It'll probably make you gain a little weight and perhaps die a little earlier due to inactivity, but god,[http://www.shbgz.com/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=543006 Homes lost, firefighters hurt in menacing start to bushfire season], Vevo is so much fun to spend time snapping through. 2 Chainzzzz.Roku 3
