1. Michigan was much more efficient on offense last season with  starting at QB, how excited are Michigan fans to have him playing full time, and how good can the Wolverines offense be with him under center?

The running game stagnated without  involved in the offense (and even occasionally with him involved in an ancillary role), but the passing game picked up quite a bit. Gardner has the kind of skills that could be very effective in this offense. He has shown an ability to throw the ball deep, and he is elusive enough to pick up yards on the ground when the play breaks down. If Al Borges can continue to work in spread wrinkles to take advantage of Gardner's legs, the sky is the limit.

Ultimately though, Michigan's offense is going to depend on balance, and that is what fans are looking for. Gardner delivered the pro-style passing game a year ago when he took over the starting job, but Michigan is still missing the effective pro-style ground attack to compliment it. The interior of the offensive line will be young this year, but if it can do a good job run blocking for , that will give Gardner an effective play action threat. If Michigan has a solid run game to pair with Devin Gardner, this offense could be very good because of the many ways in which it can attack. 2. Michigan was devastated by the injury to Jake Ryan during the off-season, who steps up to replace him, and who are some of the names to watch on the defensive side of the ball?

Zach: The Jake Ryan injury was a big blow to Michigan's defense in one very big respect: he has been the most disruptive player on a not-so-disruptive defense the last couple years. Ryan proved to be Michigan's most effective pass rusher a year ago and led the team in TFLs. The Wolverine defense has bounced back in a big way in its time under Greg Mattison, but it has yet to establish a consistent pass rush. Ryan was the closest thing Michigan had.

His contributions were big all over the field, but Michigan has a couple of solid players that could fill in nicely for him. Cam Gordon is a fifth-year senior linebacker that has been getting some positive practice mention for the last couple years, but couldn't break through to much playing time because of injuries and the coaches' desire to keep Ryan on the field. Brennan Beyer moved over from WDE and could provide a solid run-stuffing option at the spot. Also, the rest of the linebacking corp looks to be very good as  will now be starting in the middle and not the weakside - a position more suited for his skills - and James Ross will be working full time at the Will spot where he has flashed a lot of potential in his short time on campus. Michigan may also be able to get its pass rush from WDE , who is a junior and may have finally put it all together this off season.

3. Are there any freshmen, or under the radar players for Michigan who people should be keeping an eye on during Saturday's game?

Zach: On defense there is a pair of true freshmen to watch: DE Taco Charlton and S/NB Dymonte Thomas. Both enrolled early and carved out roles in the spring. Michigan will most likely look to use both in the defensive rotations, and I would imagine that unless things get close, Michigan will give these two a lot of snaps to get them ready to contribute the next week when the stakes are raised against Notre Dame.

Offensively, Michigan could work in a pair of freshmen running backs that hold a lot of potential.  is the five-star that has everyone salivating at his powerful running style, but DeVeon Smith is a compact, powerful back in the mold of  (but fast) that just might be as good as Green. If Michigan plans on using either or both this season (a good chance of at least one playing) then both should get a fair amount of snaps. Also, if things get out of hand, Michigan will likely bring in freshman Shane Morris, who is the backup quarterback despite having gotten to campus a few weeks ago. He will need a lot of experience before being really reliable as a backup.

4. Are there any weaknesses on this years Michigan team that CMU might be able to exploit during Saturday's matchup?

Zach: The two weaknesses are the interior offensive line and the safeties. If the CMU defense has the kind of interior presence that can make life hard on Michigan's guards and center, it could slow down the run game and put everything on Gardner's shoulders to win through the air. He has been known to throw some ill-advised interceptions at times, so this could present some good opportunities for Central to swing momentum. And when Central has the ball, it should try and mix up Michigan's safeties with play action and misdirection. Gone is , and Michigan has struggled thus far to adequately replace him in practice. Michigan could be susceptible to big plays because of the youth deep.

5. For CMU fans making the trip to Ann Arbor who have never been, what are some of the "Must Do's" that Chippewa fans need to see and experience while in town?

Zach: Tailgating is good all over, whether it be at the golf course or in the student neighborhoods to the north and east. I would say to show up early for the game so you can see the band preform. After the game there is plenty to eat and drink on Main St. or State St., so take some time to bar hop, have a meal, and watch some other games on TV. Also, stopping by Zingerman's is always a good idea.

6. What makes this a successful opening week for the Wolverines, and your prediction for a final score?

Zach: A successful week will be one that ends in a comfortable win and doesn't sound any alarm bells over the iffy aspects of this team. By that I mean, Michigan wants to run the ball well to set up the pass, Gardner needs to cut down on his bad reads, and the receivers need to have a solid game with very few drops. A former Olympic fencing gold medalist, Bach seems to tick all the boxes for the top Olympic job. A lawyer by profession with outstanding international contacts in the world of business, sport and politics, Bach has been a member since 1991.

Any other economic process and arrangement, as Kagaslitsky has brilliantly articulated, will amount to barbarism.

The Nigerian Left which Professor Ogedengbe was eminently part of must come out of its political closet to redeem the country from the clutches of rent seekers and political pimps who have hijacked the post-colonial Nigerian State. Partisan politics has become a profession to a good number of people who by every definition and consideration could not have had the opportunity of enjoying political power if things were properly arranged. It is intriguing that it is these otherwise less gifted and fourth-rated individuals that have been allowed to determine the fate of millions of Nigerians. No wonder our sensibilities are routinely assaulted by the indiscretions of these elements who have nothing useful to offer other than their self-serving proclivities.

In the dream, he saw himself making frantic attempts to rescue the lady, but he could not before he eventually woke up to realise that it was a nightmare.

Ignorant of the implication of such, Uchere, the following day, left home for his Mother’s place at Obaho in the heart of Warri. He never knew that would be the last time he would be setting his eyes on his property. His mission to his mother’s abode at Obaho was to see if he could have a brunch, having skipped breakfast for lack of what to eat.

But while waiting for some victuals from his single mother, his phone rang and was informed that his room was on fire.

This is the story of the inferno that has robbed some tenants, as well as the landlord, their hard-earned property; a people who were struggling to rise above the poverty line. Their dream of nearing the coveted world of the comfortable hit the rocks with just a spark from electrical appliances. ?

The fire incident, which began at about 1.15 p.m penultimate Monday, was said to have begun from one of the rooms whose occupant was not indoor. As of the time of the inferno, the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) was on song; they were not ‘holding’ the ‘light’ as usual! So, some of the victims alleged that the fire began from an electric fault in the absentee tenant’s room.

However, benevolent God was on hand, as little children, who would have been caught in the disaster were swiftly whisked away by their parents.

This was the experience of Mr Joseph Akinwale Sara, one of the tenants, who was in his two-room apartment when the fire started. According to the father of three- two boys and one girl, the children had hardly rested after returning from extra mural lesson when the fire started. His wife, a petty trader, was outside the building, where she displayed her wares and does her business.

Mr Sara told this reporter, whose office is just a stone’s throw from of the scene of incident, that the inferno started with a smoke from a co-tenant’s room, while narrating amid tears and laughter what transpired at the earliest stage of the fire incident.

“My children just returned from lesson at about 1.10 p.m, when I saw smoke coming out of the room of one of my neighbours. And he was not at home. We attempted to break into the room, but the burglary proof would not let us and before we knew, the fire had spread to another room through the ceiling,” Sara, who hails from Odiaye in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, stated.

Sara, who is in his 40s and works in the security department of Aero maritime /Brava Shipping Nigeria Limited in Warri, said he was in shorts and in the midst of the confusion over what to rescue first from his two-room apartment,? he decidedly managed to grab his children and quickly led them out of the burning house. He said he fell, swiftly stood up again and headed to pick his box containing his certificates, registers and records of monies contributed and kept with him by his colleagues at work.

Having lived in the house for over seven years with his wife and children, Sara said he had lost the essence of all his earnings to the inferno and therefore needed urgent help from the state governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan; caretaker Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, as well as oil multinationals and well-wishers to bring back life to his family.

Besides the above victims, 45-year old Mrs Roseline Obrebor, mother of five, was on her way to Ughelli when she received a call that her only room was on fire. Being a single woman, two of her daughters were living up with her and none of them was indoor except a friend of the daughters, Hope Ifada.

One of the daughters, Eloho Oghenerobor, who was in tears while speaking at Tribune’s office in Warri, said the room played host to her mother and three grown-up children. She noted that they moved into the bungalow about two years ago. But she was at work at an eatery in Water Resources, Effurun, and her mother and siblings were also away. But her friend, Ifada, was in their room watching television.

According to Ifada, who witnessed the inferno, it started as a smoke and before they knew it, it had degenerated to a raging fire. She was only able to escape the inferno with a TV set, her friend’s box containing clothing before the fire engulfed the entire building.

Items lost to the inferno, according to Oghenerobor, included, among others, N25, 000 cash inside her mother’s box, her 2008 NECO certificate and that of two other siblings, as well as WAEC certificates belonging to two other siblings of hers, which she estimated at N5 million.

Today, their mother is squatting and recuperating, after fainting on hearing the news, at their pastor’s house, while the children are squatting at different places in the town, obviously left in the hands of their creator.

Meanwhile, the Caretaker Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area, De Augustine Uroya, while speaking with InsideNigeria Delta at the scene of the incident shortly after men of the state fire service were able to contain the fire, sympathised with the occupants of the building. He requested three more fire extinguishing trucks and three water tankers from the state government given the metropolitan nature of Warri city.

Dr Uroyi advised residents of the local government to be more vigilant and meticulous in putting to use electrical appliances in their homes.
