== Waterville college students cited for underage drinking afte ==
 +
 +
<html>A group of Colby College students hired the bus to take them to and from the college to a party in the nearby town of Rome, Oakland Police Sgt. Tracey Frost said.
 +
The bus was stopped for speeding about 1 a.m. on High Street by Oakland police Officer Bryant Laverdiere, Frost said.
 +
Laverdiere boarded the bus to talk to the driver and noticed young people and a definitive smell of alcohol, Frost said.
 +
Breathalyzer tests showed that every underage person on the bus had been drinking alcohol, Frost said, and each of the 22, who ranged in age from 18 to 20, was summoned on a charge of being a minor consuming liquor.
 +
Two of the students,&nbsp; Zoe Gaffney, 19,&nbsp; of Warren Street, New York, and Robert York, 20, who was listed by his college address of Mayflower Hill Drive, Waterville,[http://www.baygem.net/index.php?do=/user/login/ Tony Gonzalez Is Not Coming to Kansas City], were also charged with aggravated forgery, because they gave officers false names and then signed them to their original citations, Frost said.
 +
In general, Frost said, the students were cooperative and apologetic.
 +
They were very,[http://www.bitswk.cn/plus/view.php?aid=181553 Can this music app boost your brain power- Neurosc], very polite, Frost said. The two that gave fake names,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], even they weren t impolite about it.
 +
The bus also held 10 students who were of legal drinking age, who were not charged with any crime.
 +
The driver, Frost said,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], received only a written warning for the speeding offense, because he had a good driving record.
 +
Frost said the offense and the names of the offenders were reported to Colby administrators, part of a longstanding cooperative relationship that has developed between the two entities in cases of underage student drinking.
 +
Colby does a very good job with that, Frost said. They re very responsive.
 +
The young people are all scheduled to appear in Waterville District Court on Dec. 17. The crime is a civil offense, punishable by fines, typically about $200 for a first offense.
 +
Over the past two years, large groups of Colby students have been charged with alcohol-related offenses a handful of times.
 +
Such charges were brought against more than two dozen students in September 2011; 19 students in October 2011; 17 students in May of 2012,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], 81 students in March, and 12 students in April.<br>

 +
 +
The agreement,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Shop Giants Jerseys</strong>], according to a ststement from the US Department of State, was signed on the margins of the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Bali, Indonesia.
 +
 +
The agreement was signed after leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum begun a two-day summit on the Indonesian resort island of Bali to discuss trade, economies, security and other issues in the Asia-Pacific.
 +
 +
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono opened Monday’s session by saying that the 21 member nations need to work together to recover from the downturn in the world economy.
 +
 +
At the summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday he understood U.S. President Barack Obama’s decision to cancel his trip to Asia and would have done the same if faced with the same domestic challenges.

Obama cancelled his visit to Indonesia for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit this week due to the U.S. government shutdown.

<html>COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and the heads of police and ethics agencies have signed an agreement on handling security expenses when governors attend political events.&nbsp; <br>

A copy of the agreement obtained Monday by The Associated Press sets what costs should be reimbursed by Haley and future South Carolina governors. It was signed Friday by Haley, State Law Enforcement Division Chief Mark Keel and State Ethics Commission director Herb Hayden.&nbsp; <br>

Questions about Haley's reimbursements arose after she attended a June fundraiser for North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory. == Body in S.F. hospital stairwell may be missing patient 0 ==
 +
 +
<html>The body of a woman was found Tuesday in a little-used stairwell at , and police were investigating whether it was that of a woman who had been reported missing from the facility more than two weeks earlier while being treated for an infection.
 +
Hospital officials said they couldn't yet confirm whether the body was that of , 57, whose disappearance from her hospital bed last month while possibly disoriented prompted relatives and friends to search the neighborhood, post "missing" flyers on utility poles and launch a Facebook page seeking tips.
 +
A family spokesman who came to the hospital Tuesday afternoon said he feared the worst. And on the Facebook page, a close friend of Spalding wrote that she was "absolutely gutted" by the discovery of the body, as others posted condolences.
 +
"We are awaiting confirmation of some sort about what is going on, both from San Francisco General and the police,[http://oraculo.inf.br/wiki/index.php?title=Usu%C3%A1rio:Dxawroeu7#Markets_steady_as_Yellen_poised_to_get_Fed_nod Markets steady as Yellen poised to get Fed nod]," said the family's spokesman, . "We continue to live in hope that Lynne is out there alive."
 +
The body was found by an employee about 10 a.m. in an exterior stairwell on the fourth floor, said hospital spokeswoman . The area was treated as a crime scene by San Francisco police officers, who were assisted by the San Francisco Sheriff's Department, which handles law-enforcement matters at the hospital.
 +
The cause of the woman's death was under investigation, and it was not immediately known how long she had been in the stairwell - which is used as a fire escape - or how she got there. But the incident raised questions about how the missing-persons case was handled by investigators and the city-owned hospital, which provides 20 percent of all inpatient care in San Francisco.
 +
"It's very concerning," Kagan said. "We're distressed and don't know what happened. That's our top priority,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>],[http://bbs.ruiantuan.com/read.php?tid=539556&ds=1 Night of the Living Deadline- Monty Python costume for a first grader], to find that out."
 +
'Deeply disturbing'Officials from the , which oversees the hospital, did not respond to calls for comment Tuesday.
 +
Perry said he found it "horrifying" and "deeply disturbing" that a body had been found in a hospital stairwell.
 +
"Hospitals are places for healing, and certainly San Francisco General knows a lot about healing," he said, "but what is happening here today is very distressing, and although we hope that our friend and our colleague Lynne Spalding will come back to us alive and healthy, we're very concerned about this, and we're awaiting either identification or confirmation that this isn't Lynne."
 +
A native of England with two grown children, Spalding was last seen at the hospital about 10:15 a.m. Sept. 21, two days after she had been admitted for complications stemming from an infection, Perry said. She was gone from her room, he said, during the next scheduled check by hospital staff 15 minutes later.
 +
Spalding,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Shop Giants Jerseys</strong>], described as speaking with a heavy British accent and very frail, may have been disoriented as a result of medication for her condition, friends said. Her home in a four-unit apartment building on York Street is less than a mile from the hospital, and "missing" flyers featuring her picture mark the path.
 +
Hospital not talkingThe medical examiner rolled the covered body out at 4:45 p.m.,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], a move that visibly shook Perry. Perry, who used to work with Spalding, described her as "lively, feisty, the life of the party."
 +
"Someone asked me if you'd be able to see her if she snuck out of the hospital entrance," he said. "You could have seen her from space. She was just a very vivacious person."
 +
Perry said while police had been "incredibly helpful during this entire time," hospital officials were revealing little information to the family. "We have been begging for answers," he said.
 +
"Now is the time for answers," Perry said. "Someone went missing from a bed in San Francisco General. That's not normal."

Mom-focused e-commerce site Zulily ,[http://haynxx.com/Review.asp?NewsID=187 David Stark Wilson home in Oakland overlooks S.F.]. And one of the big winners appears to be<br>
 +
Maveron,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], the venture capital firm co-founded by Dan Levitan and Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz that was one of the flash-sale site s earliest backers.
 +
 +
Maveron invested a little less than $5 million into Zulily in its Series A and Series B investment rounds,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Shop Giants Jerseys</strong>], according to the filing. And it already had a payday when it sold a piece of its stake for $32.5 million last year.
 +
 +
That would a nice return on its own. But Maveron still owns a huge piece of the business: 23.6 percent, according to the documents filed today.
 +
 +
With a successful IPO,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], the venture capital firm could be looking at a return of many multiples of what it has already pulled in.

Zulily CEO Darrell Cavens has also taken money off the table in previous rounds to the tune of nearly $10 million. He still owns 20.9 percent of the company.

== Strange details emerge after Del. woman's bones identified ==
 +
 +
<html>Cold chills ran up and down Danny Matney?s spine when he read about the discovery of Doris Wood?s skeletal remains in a Kentucky storage locker once owned by his friend and her husband Bob.
 +
Matney said Bob Wood, a childhood friend, was weird by some standards but a genius in truth. He said Wood was a train buff, grew marijuana, dabbled in woodworking and also was known to concoct some kind of illegal drug inside his Brookside Park home near Newark.
 +
A former New Castle County paramedic retired about a decade ago, Matney now lives in Lorenz, Iowa, with his wife. But he still keeps up with the news in Delaware online.
 +
The story still unfolding in the wake of last week?s discovery in Corbin, Ky.,[http://wiki.school57.ru/index.php/%D0%A3%D1%87%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA:Jgctzcdo7#Kanye_West.2C_Jimmy_Kimmel_make_nice_after_beef_0 Kanye West, Jimmy Kimmel make nice after beef 0], is unsettling to Matney, who said he was not altogether stunned.
 +
How 42-year-old Doris Wood met her death is still a mystery. The case is being investigated by the Whitley County Coroner?s Office and Corbin police, who are treating it as a homicide.
 +
?It just flipped me out when I read about it,? Matney said today. ?I had goose pimples all over my arm. If Bob wanted to get away with something, he could. He was a slick dude. If he put his mind to something, it got done.?
 +
Matney speculated that there were plenty of places in the area in which to bury the bones.
 +
?There?s all kinds of parks in Brookside and on the grounds of his parent?s home on Otts Chapel Road that borders I-95,? he said. ?I don?t want to put it all on him. If he did it, it was for a good reason. Bob was a really good guy.?
 +
Corbin detectives turned up nothing during searches this week at two houses there where Bob Wood used to live, said spokesman Maj. Rob Jones.
 +
Doris Wood vanished about 16 years ago from her Brookside Park home. It was her husband Bob who made the police report, claiming his wife had left to visit her sister and never arrived, said Cpl. John Weglarz Sr.,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], a New Castle County police spokesman.
 +
Bob and his daughter moved from Delaware in the early 2000s. At the time of his death in a Huntsville, Ala., hospital in May, he was living in Scottsboro, Ala.
 +
(Page 2 of 3)<br>Brookside Park neighbor Shirley Glines recalled seeing Wood driving off in a pickup truck ?loaded with his belongings,? she said.
 +
A co-worker of Wood?s in Scottsboro said he lived alone and worked at a grocery store until he became sick. He didn?t seem to have any family in the area.
 +
Wood?s co-workers used to give him a ride home from work because he didn?t have a vehicle.
 +
Bob Wood rented two storage units at Pier Mobile Storage in Corbin in 2002. After his death, the lockers were auctioned off for f $625 to a local man who was sifting through contents Thursday when he came upon two yellow plastic bags.
 +
Steven Terry found the first bag under some boxes, looked inside and quickly determined the jawbone and arm bones it contained were human. A second bag contained rib bones, he said.
 +
?Of course I?m no coroner or a medical person, but it looked like human bones,? said Terry, a lifelong Corbin resident.
 +
Terry said other items in the storage unit included a stamp collection,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Shop Giants Jerseys</strong>], about a dozen old Apple computers and several Lionel model trains, which Terry hopes he can sell for a profit.
 +
In 2005, after Wood had left Kentucky, Corbin police searched the same storage lockers with the help of cadaver dogs and turned up nothing, Jones said. The search was inititated, to Jones? recollection,[http://xima4.com/wiki/index.php?title=%D0%A3%D1%87%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA:Dvipegxv0#Dodgers_headed_to_St._Louis_for_NLCS Dodgers headed to St. Louis for NLCS], after Wood?s daughter told police ?something happened? to her mother.
 +
Jones said investigators suspect the bones, mingled with dirt when discovered by Terry, were buried at one time and later disinterred and moved to the storage unit sometime after the 2005 search.
 +
Matney said the last time he visited Wood was in the early 1980s after he got out of the service, but he would run into him periodicaly after that.
 +
?I looked him up and went to say ?hi,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>],? Matney said. ?I walked into the house in Brookside and he had a two-story double set of HO trains set up in the living room. He had all kinds of medical, chemical and engineering periodicals there along with beakers and flasks.?
 +
At the time of the visit, it was about 90 degrees outside and the Woods did not have any air conditioning. Yet Wood was dressed in a long-sleeve plaid flannel shirt, which he had tucked in and cinched at the waist with a belt, Matney recalled.
 +
(Page 3 of 3)<br>Doris Wood was not at home and Bob Wood told Matney that ?she disappears sometimes.?
 +
He told him that his wife would ?just take off? and said she was messed up on drugs and had hooked up with a motorcycle gang,? Matney said. ?Wood said ?she had gone missing before.? ?
 +
Weglarz said he has no knowledge that New Castle County detectives working on Wood?s missing person case ever investigated a connection to biker gangs.
 +
Matney said he didn?t know too much about Doris, only that he had met her at a coffee house in Newark in the late 1960s when he was in high school. He described the couple as ?meant for each other, like two peas in a pod.?
 +
But another neighbor in Brookside Park, James Morgan, said, ?She was devious.?
 +
Morgan, whose home on Curry Lane is across the street from where the Woods? lived, said,?She took out a homeowners? loan and then took off with the money. There was a note on the door.?
 +
He said Bob told him, ?She took the money and ran.?
 +
Morgan said Wood sold the house in 1998 and told him he was moving to Tennessee.
 +
Matney said he only met Bob Wood?s father once at the family?s Otts Chapel Road home, where Matney was in a garage band with Wood. His mother died in a car crash before he even met him and his younger sister died of a drug overdose, Matney said.
 +
Weglarz said county police never searched the family property on Otts Chapel Road as part of the missing person case.
 +
Wood was ?making some type of drug? even before he graduated from Christiana High School, Matney said. He also sold marijuana, which he grew in his home.
 +
Glines recalled seeing the glow of a purple grow light coming from the window when she passed the house. She also noted that the rear shed had a smoke stack.
 +
?There would be times we could see smoke coming out of the stack and smelled awful,? she said.
 +
In a 1984 story in The News Journal in which Bob Wood was interviewed about his passion for crafting wooden toys and custom-made telescopes, Wood said he had worked as a lab technician for DuPont prior to becoming ?a craftsman.?
 +
His wife Doris, he said, worked at the University of Delaware.
 +
Terry, who found the remains, said he hopes the family finds some comfort in learning the fate of Doris Wood.
 +
?If nothing else, maybe her family can get some closure,? he said. ?As sad and as cruel as it was, at least you have an answer.?

== Charges dropped against former Clinton police officer ==
 +
 +
<html>The dismissal, filed Tuesday in Kennebec County Superior Court,[http://jwc2.hlbrc.cn/jwc_web/Review.asp?NewsID=737 Obama nominates Yellen to succeed Bernanke at Fed_0], lists insufficient evidence as the reason for not moving forward with the assault charge filed in March against Scott A. Francis, 38, of Chelsea.
 +
It was clear from the start of the investigation that there was no assault here, said Walter McKee,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], the attorney who represented Francis. The alleged victim said as much. We knew this day would have to come.
 +
Unfortunately Scott had to wait all of this time for the inevitable dismissal.
 +
McKee said the domestic violence charge was dismissed previously. However, that was unclear in the record in Kennebec County Superior Court.
 +
Maeghan Maloney,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], district attorney in Kennebec and Somerset counties, said she did not directly handle the case and instead sought the assistance of the attorney general s office. Maloney said that is her practice when a case involves a law enforcement officer who works in the county.
 +
Deputy Attorney General William Stokes said he worked with Assistant District Attorney Kristin Murray-James and agreed the charges should be dismissed because there was little likelihood of a successful prosecution.
 +
Francis was terminated as a Clinton patrolman on March 29,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], and McKee said Wednesday that Francis is not working as a law enforcement officer.
 +
The incident that led to the charges allegedly occurred March 25 in Winslow. It was investigated by Detective Gina Henderson of the Winslow Police Department.
 +
The domestic violence charge listed a 19-year-old victim and the assault charge listed a 16-year-old victim.
 +
The charges triggered a separate case regarding Francis certification to act as a law enforcement officer in Maine, and that is pending before the Complaint Review Committee of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Board of Trustees, according to academy director John Rogers.
 +
Rogers said the Clinton police chief filed a report on March 27 with the academy and that the review committee would look at any underlying conduct which might have led to the charges. Francis had been with the Clinton department from April 4,[http://www.bitswk.cn/plus/view.php?aid=204564 Late notice- Demolition training today at Dover], 2012, until his termination.
 +
Francis has been through that process before.
 +
In 2010, he was fired from a position as a Washington County deputy for conduct unbecoming a deputy sheriff after he was served with a temporary protection order on behalf of his estranged wife. The complaint review committee in that instance dismissed the complaint and recommended no further action.
 +
Francis was initially certified as a law enforcement officer in October 2005 when he worked with the Passamaquoddy Warden Service. <br>

== Light Factory looks for ways to reopen ==
 +
 +
<html>A team is expected to be formed within weeks to look at options for The Light Factory, the Charlotte photography and film museum that laid off its three paid employees and suspended operations Monday amid financial problems.
 +
 +
Jeff Wise,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], The Light Factory s board chair, said shutting down the 41-year-old organization based at Spirit Square was necessary because there was not enough money coming in to pay debts and support operations. It is one of four museums in the nation specializing exclusively in film and photography.
 +
 +
It s a great organization, Brian Collier, senior vice president of the Foundation for the Carolinas, said Tuesday. It s unique.
 +
 +
Collier said the foundation had set aside up to $50,000 from its Community Catalyst Fund to help The Light Factory determine its future and is advising the museum on consultants for such a project.
 +
 +
Everything from financial models to programs to leadership will need to be examined, Collier said.
 +
 +
Wise,[http://www.mariopireddu.net/public/wiki/index.php?title=Utente:Vxjocyai7#Rumours_of_Sacrifice.2C_Agagu_and_Stella_Oduah.2C_Articles Rumours of Sacrifice, Agagu and Stella Oduah, Articles], who took over as board chair three months ago, said other organizations have offered assistance since the announcement Monday that The Light Factory would suspend operations.
 +
 +
As The Light Factory s finances grew perilous in the spring, the organization with the assistance of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Arts & Science Council brought in Kathy Ridge of Levridge Resources, a Charlotte consultant for nonprofits, to develop options, Wise said.
 +
 +
Among the suggestions, Wise said,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Shop Giants Jerseys</strong>], were splitting the museum s operations,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], reforming as a smaller organization, finding a partnership or shutting down. That s not the thing we want to do, he said, but we are circumspect knowing it s a potential.
 +
 +
ASC grants to The Light Factory and other cultural organizations had decreased in the years following the recession. In the last three years, Wise said, overall income had fallen by about 30 percent.
 +
 +
ASC offered technical help
 +
 +
Reports on file with the IRS show The Light Factory had expenses of $637,000 and a surplus of $30,000 in June 2012, the most recent year for which data are available.
 +
 +
In 2012, the ASC gave The Light Factory $125,000 in operating support, but this year it is offering only technical support grants of up to $75,000 to help the museum find an sustainable model.
 +
 +
We re trying to help them make decisions about their future, said Robert Bush, interim ASC president. So far, only $10,000 of the technical support grant has been spent.
 +
 +
Wise said the museum s board will decide soon whether to take the assistance from the ASC or the foundation to examine its options. He said he hoped the museum s fate would be decided in November.
 +
 +
Classes in session at The Light Factory will be completed, and those who have signed up for future classes will be notified whether they will be held or money refunded, Wise said.
 +
 +
Studying nonprofits future
 +
 +
Many Charlotte nonprofits have been struggling with finances because of the decreases in donations since the recession, downturns in workplace giving and other changes in traditional fund-raising strategies.

== Bengals Vs. Bills ==
 +
 +
<html>This week we trade questions with Brian Galliford (@BuffRumblings) at the SBNation site .
 +
 +
The Bills are having a bit of a QB issue so will be starting a guy off the practice squad. So I start with that:
 +
 +
Whats the scoop on QB Thad Lewis?
 +
 +
Great question, and I wish I had a better answer for you: I have very little idea. We've only seen him make one preseason appearance in Buffalo, and he'd been with the team for the better part of three days at that point. We're as in the dark as you are when it comes to what Buffalo's offense will look like with Lewis under center, but we're betting that they'll make good use of his athletic ability with the read-option, for starters. From there, it's a mystery.
 +
 +
Will Jairus Byrd play and what kind of impact will he have in the secondary if he does play?
 +
 +
Yes,[http://strandedwiki.de/index.php?title=Benutzer:Evfhdpxd5#Norman_the_Scooter_Dog_officially_sets_Guinness_World_Record Norman the Scooter Dog officially sets Guinness World Record],[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Shop Giants Jerseys</strong>],[http://jinoos.com/wiki/%EC%82%AC%EC%9A%A9%EC%9E%90:Kovjdirm5#Bills_vs._Bengals_2013-_five_questions_with_the_enemy Bills vs. Bengals 2013- five questions with the enemy], it's looking like Jairus Byrd will be making his season debut on Sunday. I'm not sure what his impact will be yet, because we don't know how big a role he'll have - the team may or may not move Aaron Williams from corner back to safety depending on if Stephon Gilmore and Ron Brooks can also suit up. In a vacuum,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], the answer is more obvious: the Bills lack a quality coverage element between current starters Da'Norris Searcy and Jim Leonhard,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], so he'd be a major upgrade there. But again, until we know how much he'll be playing, it's hard to say what his return will mean.
 +
 +
Who is the feature back in Buffalo? Is it Fred Jackson or CJ Spiller?
 +
 +
When both were healthy early in the season, Spiller was getting about 60 percent of the offensive snaps to Jackson's 40 percent. Jackson has been marginally healthier this season, but Spiller still has more carries. It's a timeshare, to be certain, but if one is ahead of the other by any length, Spiller's in the lead. (He's healthier this week, too, after logging only eight carries in Cleveland.)
 +
 +
What matchup most scares you from the Bengals?
 +
 +
Buffalo decided that this, the week in which they have to try to block Geno Atkins, would be the best week to start rotating two players in at left guard: Colin Brown, who has been awful, and Doug Legursky, the former Steeler that has likely struggled with Atkins alongside the rest of the league. If Atkins finds himself on the outside shoulder of the left guard for most of the day Sunday, he could have a career day.
 +
 +
What matchup favors the Bills?
 +
 +
I think defensive coordinator Mike Pettine has a chance for a good day against Cincinnati's offense. Buffalo is much better defensively than the numbers indicate, and their secondary is finally getting healthy. Yes, the Bengals have excellent skill players that present a variety of problems, but the Bills' biggest bugaboo defensively has been giving up the deep ball - and ideally, the secondary reinforcements will aid in that department. I'm very interested to see Pettine's defense at full strength, and given the Bengals' offensive struggles in their last two games, this seems like a favorable matchup for Buffalo.
 +
 +
How happy are you that the Bengals beat the Patriots?
 +
 +
I was thrilled for about 30 seconds, but it faded quickly when I remembered that the Bills couldn't close the deal against New England on their home turf in Week 1.</html>

== 'Glee' says goodbye to Finn without revealing how he ==
 +
 +
<html>15 hours ago
 +
 +
FOX "Glee" paid tribute to Finn (Cory Monteith) with an emotional episode that also had humor. RIP, Finn Hudson.  of the beloved jock played by Cory Monteith, who died July 13, on its third episode of the season Thursday.<br>
 +
have been reported extensively, but Finn's cause of death wasn't revealed to viewers.
 +
"That doesn't matter," insisted Kurt (Chris Colfer) in the episode titled "The Quarterback," which opened "three weeks to the day" after Finn's funeral.
 +
"Everyone wants to talk about how he died too, but who cares?" asked Finn's grief-stricken stepbrother. "One moment in his whole life — I care more about how he lived."
 +
While the glee club gathered at McKinley High to memorialize their popular alum, one person was noticeably absent: Rachel Berry.
 +
Lea Michele, Monteith's real-life girlfriend, didn't appear for the episode's first 45 minutes. When she did arrive, joining the students gathered around his impromptu memorial, it was more shocking than a slushie facial.
 +
"Before Finn,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], I used to sing alone," she told the glee club before delivering the episode's most poignant performance, Bob Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love."
 +
Nothing was more gut-wrenching than when she told Matthew Morrison's Mr. Schue, "He was my person."
 +
Then she handed him a plaque she'd had made, featuring a picture and quote from her "untraditionally smart" boyfriend that read, "The show must go on. All over the place ... or something like that."
 +
And "Glee" did just that with its tribute, deftly balancing heartache with humor and respect, from its opening number (the black-clad cast singing "Seasons of Love" from Broadway's "Rent") to the closing scene: Will Schuester sobbing in Emma's (Jayma Mays) arms.
 +
Mr. Schue urged the glee clubbers early in the show to memorialize Finn "the only way we know how — by singing."
 +
Those performances included Mercedes' (Amber Riley) rendition of The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You," after thanking the sports stud for being the"first cool kid to be nice to us." Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Artie (Kevin McHale) did a duet of James Taylor's "Fire Rain,[http://www.ludwikishafen.de/wiki/index.php?title=Benutzer:Rpvpxkzo3#True_confessions-_Tell_us_your_bad_boss_stories True confessions- Tell us your bad boss stories]," Puck (Mark Salling) strummed his guitar along to Bruce Springsteen's "No Surrender."
 +
And Santana (Naya Rivera) sang most of The Band Perry's "If I Die Young" — before fleeing the classroom, crying and screaming.
 +
She also lashed out at Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch),[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], calling the new principal (!) a "cold-hearted b----" before shoving her into a cabinet.
 +
Sue was characteristically callous about Finn's death — at first. "I'm grieving. And I grieve by insulting those who mean the most to me," she explained.
 +
She also ridiculed the students' memorials,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], saying, "We honor Finn Hudson by ... not making a self-serving spectacle of our own sadness."
 +
Kurt's memorial — planting a tree — was vandalized by Puck,[http://q.ntzx.cn/wiki/User:Xckneqgr0#Abby-_Nice_kids_won.27t_get_far_without_table_manners Abby- Nice kids won't get far without table manners], who was also accused of swiping Finn's letterman jacket. (One of the episode's biggest tearjerkers was Kurt saying that Finn walking down his hallway in that jacket "was like Superman had arrived.”)
 +
Of course, the actual culprit was Mr. Schue, who, until the last scene of the episode, hadn't shed a tear since finding out about Finn's death.
 +
But he made up for it in the end, weeping as he clutched Finn's jacket, the symbol of a shining star that dimmed much too soon.</html>

== New measures at S.F. General after patient death ==
 +
 +
<html>put new security measures in place Friday in response to the death of a patient whose body was found in a rarely used stairwell beyond an alarm-equipped door 17 days after she went missing during treatment.
 +
Hospital officials have not said whether an alarm triggered when , 57, entered the stairwell after she vanished Sept. 21 from her bed on the fifth floor. But it wasn't until Tuesday that she was found during a routine quarterly check of the stairwell, which was used as a fire escape,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], officials said. She was found on the fourth floor.
 +
From now on, said Dr. , the hospital's chief medical officer, staffers and sheriff's deputies who police the hospital must manually deactivate all alarms and check fire escapes when they sound, on top of conducting daily sweeps of all the building's stairwells.
 +
"There are several investigations that need to be completed, but in the meantime, we are taking steps to improve things that can readily be improved - working with alarms on doors, monitoring our stairwells and putting extra procedures in place," said May in an interview at the hospital.
 +
"With our existing staff and the resources we have," he said, "we're doing the things that can minimize security and patient safety risks."
 +
May said the staff met Friday to discuss proactive steps they could take as they waited for various agencies to finish investigations into the death of Spalding, who was being treated for an infection and staying in a medical-surgical unit that had staffed one nurse for every four to five patients the day she disappeared.
 +
Investigations have been launched by San Francisco police and the state health department,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], while the Sheriff's Department and the hospital are doing internal probes.
 +
Also Friday, the mayor's office announced that officials from  will be conducting an independent review of the hospital's procedures and systems for patient safety and security. UCSF now partners with San Francisco General on clinical teaching and research, but not on safety or security systems.
 +
Spalding's friends and family expressed concern that she may have been disoriented, perhaps due to medication, on the day she vanished from her room, leaving her cell phone behind. Her disappearance led friends to post flyers around the city and ask for tips online.
 +
Hospital policy requires all patients to stay within their unit,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], unless escorted by a nurse or doctor to another area for tests or treatment, May said.
 +
He declined to discuss security camera systems in place at the hospital and if they could have helped shed light on Spalding's disappearance.
 +
He said the hallways of the hospital, which provides 20 percent of all inpatient care in San Francisco, are busy most days,[http://cqcshedu.com/Review.asp?NewsID=469 Gobble tov! Jews ready for Thanksgivukkah_0], full of staff and patients. Although he wouldn't comment on the status of the door alarm on the day Spalding went missing, he said the sheer amount of alarms and sirens at big hospitals can be an issue.
 +
"There is literature about this phenomenon," May said. "We have alarm overload in medicine. We have alarms of various types that are intended to be safety measures, but it can be a cacophony of chirps and beeps and you can become desensitized to that. That is a recognized issue in health care and we are working to contend with that."
 +
May said he welcomed the mayor's independent study because it will help him and the rest of the staff improve operations.
 +
"There are a lot of questions right now, and we want to know the answers, too,[http://wiki.ceeger.com/index.php?title=%E7%94%A8%E6%88%B7:Ilihdtgy6#Curt_Schilling_opens_home_for_items_for_sale.2C_ranging_from_b Curt Schilling opens home for items for sale, ranging from b]," May said. "We will find out, and we will take what we learned from this and make sure it doesn't happen again."

== ST. LOUIS- Wacha, Cardinals edge Dodgers for 2 ==
 +
 +
<html>ST. LOUIS Matched against ace Clayton Kershaw, the only thing Michael Wacha lacked was a no-hit watch.
 +
"He's becoming a guy a lot of teams wish they drafted," teammate David Freese said. "What he's done is remarkable, especially on this stage."
 +
Wacha stared down a bases-loaded test in the sixth inning and pitched into the seventh,[http://www.sternbauer.org/webkommunikation/index.php?title=Benutzer:Honlizfz9#School_photos-_Would_you_airbrush_out_the_awkward- School photos- Would you airbrush out the awkward-], and the kids in the bullpen also were impervious to October pressure, keeping the Los Angeles Dodgers bats silent for the second straight day and winning 1-0 Saturday for a 2-0 lead in the NL championship series.
 +
"I'm kind of at a loss for words to describe him," said fellow rookie Kevin Siegrist,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], who got a big out to end the seventh. "It's kind of ridiculous how well he's done so far."
 +
The Cardinals managed only two hits off Kershaw and the Dodgers, but Jon Jay's sacrifice fly set up by Freese's double and A.J. Ellis' passed ball in the fifth stood up.
 +
The Dodgers' scoreless streak in the NLCS reached 19 innings after they averaged 6 runs in a four-game division series against Atlanta. Rookie fireballer Trevor Rosenthal struck out the side in the ninth with a heater reaching 101 mph, fanning pinch-hitter Andre Ethier on three pitches to end it.
 +
A day after outlasting Los Angeles 3-2 in 13 innings, the Cardinals moved two wins away from the World Series.
 +
Game 3 is Monday at Dodger Stadium, with Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright facing rookie Hyun-Jin Ryu. The Dodgers have already used their top two starters and have nothing to show for it.
 +
"We don't get too far ahead of ourselves," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. "We don't deny also what's happened here the last two days.
 +
"Those were two very good wins, two very tough wins when you face starters like that."
 +
Hanley Ramirez and Ethier were out of the Dodgers' lineup with injuries after starting in the opener. Los Angeles missed a handful of opportunities, going 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position for a two-day total of 1 for 16. Star rookie Yasiel Puig struck out in all four of his at-bats.
 +
"We had our chances," Kershaw said. "We had our chances, for sure. You've got to give a lot of credit to Wacha."
 +
The teams may have been hindered by shadows creeping across Busch Stadium in a late-afternoon start, with lights providing no real help. Both also were no doubt fatigued, which might have shown on the crucial passed ball by Ellis that wound up resulting in an unearned run.
 +
Wacha was nearly untouchable for the third straight start,[http://bbs.dsu.cc/demo/dx25/home.php?mod=space&uid=1510472&do=blog&quickforward=1&id=16551912 FCDA- N64bn Millennium Tower Ready by Dec. 2014, A], allowing five hits with eight strikeouts and a walk in 6 2-3 innings.
 +
The 22-year-old right-hander was one out away from a no-hitter in his last start of the regular season, losing it on an infield hit by Washington's Ryan Zimmerman. Wacha ignored a crowd chanting his name in Game 4 of the division series at Pittsburgh, holding the Pirates hitless for 7 1-3 innings to bring the series back home.
 +
In 22 2-3 innings in his last three starts, Wacha has given up two runs on seven hits with 26 strikeouts and five walks.
 +
The 6-6 Wacha struck out Puig and Juan Uribe with the bases loaded to end the sixth. Catcher Yadier Molina helped by making a couple trips to the mound.
 +
"That was a game-changer right there," Molina said. "To get out of that inning was unbelievable."
 +
Kershaw led off with a single, and runners were on second and third after second baseman Matt Carpenter slid in shallow right to glove Carl Crawford's infield hit but threw it away for an error trying to get a forceout at second.
 +
Adrian Gonzalez was walked intentionally to load the bases and the Dodgers 4-5 hitters coming up. Puig struck out on a fastball in the dirt and Uribe had a feeble cut chasing a 1-2 pitch out of the zone.
 +
Carpenter tripled on Kershaw's first pitch of the game but didn't budge when the lefty retired the next three on nine pitches.
 +
The Cardinals had another runner at third with nobody out in the fifth after Freese doubled and advanced on a passed ball by Ellis, This time they converted on Jay's sacrifice fly to shallow left as Crawford's throw was well offline.
 +
The previous pitch the Cardinals tried to squeeze in a run with the Dodgers infield playing in, but Jay fouled off a 1-1 pitch.
 +
Kershaw worked six snappy innings, needing just 72 pitches. He gave up two hits and struck out five.
 +
The majors' ERA leader had plenty left, too,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], but the Dodgers needed runs and manager Don Mattingly opted for pinch-hitter Michael Young after Nick Punto's two-out single in the seventh.
 +
"I always want to stay in the game, but I understand where Donnie's coming from,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>]," Kershaw said. "I get it. We can't give up any more outs and Michael Young is one of the best players the last 10 years."
 +
The Cardinals lifted Wacha for another stingy rookie. Siegrist, who had a minuscule 0.45 ERA in his debut season, threw a pair of wild pitches before getting Young on a flyout to end the seventh.
 +
Relievers Randy Choate and Carlos Martinez pitched the eighth for St. Louis before turning it over to Rosenthal.
 +
The Cardinals handed Kershaw two of his nine losses this season and have beaten him four consecutive times overall.
 +
NOTES: SS Ramirez was a late scratch with sore ribs after getting plunked in the first inning of Game 1. Ethier has been slowed by a sore ankle. ... Carpenter has a hit each of the first two games after entering the NLCS in a 3 for 39 slump. ... Choate, the lone veteran reliever the Cardinals used in Game 2, has gotten two outs on four pitches in two appearances.</html>

== Druva, A Data Protection Platform, Lands $25 Million Series ==
 +

<html>You hear a lot these days about the problems companies have keeping track of their data as they shift toward providing access to data in a more mobile and flexible way. It wasn t so long ago that if you backed up the files on company-issued notebooks,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Shop Giants Jerseys</strong>], you pretty much had it licked. But now you have to think about personal devices like tablets and smartphones that connect over pretty much whatever networks they have handy, and which can get lost or stolen. Keeping track of who has access to what confidential files gets complicated pretty quick.
 +
 +
Druva, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based startup, has been aiming to make it easier. Its InSync suite is a platform that is intended to safeguard corporate assets by linking the backup of all those files that live on the endpoint a PC, a tablet, a smartphone to file-sharing, encryption, and creating an audit trail for governance and forensics purposes.
 +

The result is that employees end up with all the freedom of file-sharing and collaboration that they might want in their day-to-day work lives, while the IT department gets all the security and control features that satisfy its needs. The new Mini Cooper is about to get much more high-tech.
 +
 +
, which debuts in November, will come with several new high-tech features aimed at improving safety on the road. The most significant upgrade will be a multifunctional camera mounted behind the windshield that can alert the driver to potential collisions with cars or pedestrians.
 +
 +
The system works by monitoring other vehicles and pedestrians,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>],[http://www.yukari.co/dzbbs/upload/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=229793&fromuid=27298 Cisco Checks on the Cloud and Confirms It's Getting Bigger_0], and it then feeds that information back to the driver through a small dashboard. The system can give the driver visual and audio warnings about potential issues.
 +

If the driver does not respond to those warnings, the car will automatically brake,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>],[http://www.hbszy.com/www/show.php?aid=331947 Monmouth soldier's wife, children settle into rout], Mini said.
 +
 +
But the high-end technology doesn’t stop there.
 +
 +
The Mini Cooper will also be able to automatically keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of it. By using the same windshield-mounted camera,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Shop Giants Jerseys</strong>], the car can adjust its speed to stay at an appropriate distance away from the nearest car.
 +
 +
The driver-assist dashboard will also tell the driver the current speed limit, weather conditions and other useful tidbits.
 +
 +
Mini also plans to equip the model with a rear-facing camera and a parking-assist system.
 +
 +
The company said the driver-assist system can be turned off.</html>

== Africa- Ghana launches first national yam strategy ==
 +
 +
<html>Ghana has taken a major step ahead of other yam-producing nations with the launch of a strategy for the development of the yam industry from farm to market. This follows the global conference on yams in Accra from October 3 to 6 and ongoing strategic development for the sector.
 +
 +
The national yam strategy puts yam in the spotlight as a key crop to help Ghana fight poverty, enhance food security, and improve the livelihoods and income of women and men engaged in the yam sector.
 +
 +
“The strategy envisions making Ghana the leading source of premium quality yam products with global penetration and contributing to an improved Ghanaian economy and livelihoods,” says the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Ahmed Yakubu Alhassan.
 +
 +
“One of the objectives of the strategy is to develop commercially-driven research and development, as well as capacity building in yam value chain,” he added at the inauguration of the strategy in Accra on Tuesday last week.
 +
 +
The economic value of the yam industry in Ghana has grown quite rapidly in recent years,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Denver Broncos Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], with its foreign exchange earnings shooting up to the third position among the non-traditional export commodities in the period 2010 to 2012.
 +
 +
Demand for yam in both fresh and processed forms is increasing in new markets abroad and domestically. The industry faces tremendous opportunities, as well as challenges and requires support policies, private sector investment, and to become organised as a whole value chain.
 +
 +
The Ghana Yam Strategy is a bottom-up policy process that started in 2012. It is a private sector-led road map championed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, with the support of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection.
 +
 +
The International Trade Centre (ITC) and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) provided technical support and process facilitation.
 +
 +
“Despite the contribution of yam, the crop has not been given the right attention. This is what this strategy aims to correct,” says Mr Anthony Sikpa,[http://gamec.net46.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=165393&extra= Group- National Dialogue Will Address Nigeria's Challenges, Articles], Chairman of the Ghana Yam Strategy Committee.
 +
 +
“With this strategy, not only will yam be given attention, but it will also provide opportunities for all stakeholders in the yam sector,” he added.
 +
 +
IITA Director for Western Africa, Dr Robert Asiedu, commended Ghana for taking the lead in developing a strategy for the tuber crop.
 +
 +
“We also encourage other countries to emulate Ghana,[http://viewtool.com/wiki/index.php/%E7%94%A8%E6%88%B7:Bxhjejtk5#Okogun-_Traditional_Media_Will_Evolve_Along_Other_Platforms.2C Okogun- Traditional Media Will Evolve Along Other Platforms,], by developing similar strategies that give clear direction on how to make the crop work for the poor and improve their economies,” Dr Asiedu added.
 +
 +
Indigenous to Africa, yam is a major staple contributing to food security and incomes, and also plays a significant role in the culture of the people.
 +
 +
The Strategy has been designed and developed to provide a holistic approach to sector development by considering both the economic and social value of yam in Ghana. “The methodology used combines IITA’s experience in agriculture research-and-development with ITC’s practice of participatory mechanisms and market-led planning for policy, enterprise, and sector development,” said Hernan Manson, ITC Adviser for Value Chain Development, and Antonio Lopez-Montes, IITA Yam Breeder.
 +
 +
“Country ownership and leadership have been ensured through a private-public platform in charge of building partnerships and articulating support for implementation,” they added.
 +
 +
The platform includes approximately 200 stakeholders from the private sector,[http://keralaviewer.com/kumarakoms.html <strong>Cheap Authentic Giants Jerseys Wholesale</strong>], representing all areas of the industry,[http://tyreprobe.com/images/Custom-Denver-Broncos-Jerseys-For-Sale.html <strong>Custom Denver Broncos NFL Jerseys For Sale</strong>], and support institutions (Ghana Standards Authority, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Export Development and Agriculture Investment Fund, and National Development Planning Commission), commercial and development banks, research centers (CSIR, etc.), academia, and key ministries such as Trade, Agriculture, Finance, and Women and Children.<br><br></html>
