And fast.<br><br>3. The missed scoring chances were certainly disappointing for Philly but the Union’s stout defensive performance cannot be overlooked. With Sheanon Williams sliding from right back over to center back and Ray Gaddis returning from injury to take over at right back, Philly’s retooled backline made amends for its dreadful performance in last week’s 5-1 drubbing by the New England Revolution, guiding the Union to their fifth shutout in the last seven games. Fabinho and Gaddis were both dynamic on the wings, and the Parke-Williams center back pairing looked strong, even though the two players have never before paired in that position.<br><br>Three questions for the week ahead<br>1. The Union have some unique challenges ahead of them for their next game. For starters, the team will make its last trip to the West Coast of the season when they take on the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday at 11 p.m. The game will also be on a relatively big stage as it will be ESPN’s featured MLS Game of the Week. How will the Union handle that? Will they try to break out of its scoring funk and play an open game in front of a national TV audience? Or will they employ more of a defensive gameplan playing so far from home?<br><br>2. The Union’s defense will be hampered again with Amobi Okugo serving the second of his two-game suspension. But after preventing MLS Golden Boot leader Marco Di Vaio from scoring Saturday, will Philly’s makeshift backline be able to do the same against 2012 Golden Boot winner Chris Wondolowski? Wondolowski has just eight goals this season but has scored three since the start of August and is still undoubtedly one of the league’s most dangerous players.<br><br>3.
