The suspects, were until the attack on August 5, residents of 16, Ebunoluwa Street, Sungas, Bariga. The arrested suspects include,? 20-year-old Shakiru Oloyede, the owner of the one–room apartment where the gruesome killing took place. He was the only one who escaped the attack unhurt.

The two other suspects are?? 32-year-old Olamilekan Shokunbi? and 32-year-old Jacob Sunday.

The gruesome killing of? Malik and Wale? might not be unconnected with a clash between suspected? rival cult groups from Bariga and Oworonsoki at a lecture during the last Ramadan period. The two rival groups reportedly clashed and disrupted the Islamic lectures,? two days before the reprisal attack in Bariga. ?

Meanwhile, the arrested suspects have continued to deny their involvement in the killing of the two? young? boys, while two of them, Jacob Sunday and Olamilekan, stated that they responded to a distress call from Shakiru, after the assailants had escaped from the scene of the incident.

One of the suspects, Olamilekan, a bricklayer and father of three from Obada in Ogun State said, “I stay in the same compound with the boys. “On the? day of the incident, in the? midnight, I heard a gunshot and people shouting; “where is your money ?” My wife and I woke up and before we knew what was happening, I? heard another gunshot and that was when I moved my wife and children to the back of the house where Sunday met us,” he said. ?

?The suspect continued that, “After about 30 minutes, I heard? Shakiru shouting for help and Sunday said we should go and see what was going on. When we got there, we saw two of Shakiru’s friends shot dead and two others seriously injured.

“We then helped in taking the two survivors to the nearest hospital, which is Remedy Hospital at Sungas, but they were rejected. So we had to call the police from Pedro and Bariga to assist us in taking the injured to the government? hospital. I was then asked to come to the station at C.M.S Bariga to write a statement,
