Affandi Public On the main road between the town and the airport stands the Affandi Museum (1907 - 1990) in a rich garden alongside his peculiar private house on stilts. He was Indonesia's foremost impressionist painter who built an exclusive gallery for his own pictures and of the of his daughter Kartika. Affandi's grave (died in May possibly 1990) lies in the backyard next to the museum.
