 I worked hard to get that number when I first got here, Dixon said. I worked hard to get it off somebody else. I ve been No. 24 since high school and college.

== New York Rangers- A Look At Day 1 Of Training Camp ==

I know Vigneault?did. The coach started training camp by giving the players on his new team a present.

This was a t-shirt that said Clean Slate Grab It. When Vigneault was asked about the shirt by the media, he said everybody’s got a clean slate. Everybody’s going to get a chance. It might not be a long chance, but they’re going to get a chance. They’re going to get an opportunity. It’s up to them to grab it. 

In other words, Vigneault obviously wanted to let it be known in words that John Tortorella will not be returning to the Rangers locker room any time soon. This clean slate Vigneault is preaching should definitely help veteran center Brad Richards?regain his confidence after a dreadful year, especially in the playoffs. Only time will tell how Richards responds to the new coach.

The only Rangers who didn t receive their t-shirts were backup goaltender Martin Biron,[http://softvent.net/restaurant.html <strong>Authentic New York Jets Jerseys Sale</strong>], who had to leave due to personal reasons, and restricted free agent holdout, center Derek Stepan.

Stepan and his agent have made it clear that they want a five or six year deal worth at least $5 million per, while Rangers GM Glen Sather is only willing to give him a two-year deal worth no more than $3 million per season. == Pakistan quake may have created new island ==

<html>Pakistani officials are investigating whether the powerful earthquake that killed dozens also created a new island off the southern coast.
 The Pakistan Meteorological Department's director general, Arif Mahmood, says witnesses have reported that a small island has appeared near the port of Gwadar.
 He says the temblor could have caused the earth under the sea to rise, but officials need to investigate further.
 Gwadar Police Chief Pervez Umrani says the new land mass is visible from the beach. He says the mass is about 9 meters (30 feet) high and 100 meters (109 yards) long.
 At least 39 people were killed by the earthquake.
 The Pakistani military said it was rushing troops and helicopters to Baluchistan province's Awaran district, where the quake was cantered, as well as the nearby area of Khuzdar.

 The quake also jolted Pakistan's largest city, Karachi, along the Arabian Sea, roughly 250 kilometres (155 miles) from the epicentre.  "I was working on my computer in the office. Suddenly I felt tremors. My table and computer started shaking.  In January 2011, a 7.2 magnitude quake damaged 200 mud-brick homes in a remote area of Baluchistan about 200 miles (320 kilometres) southwest of Quetta not far from the Afghan border, but caused no casualties.
