== More grades for the Wizards ==

Outside of Wall is now 23 (which only happened last week), hard to find fault with anything said there. Schuhmann went a step further and graded various aspects of the team, from the frontcourt (C+) and backcourt (B) to defense (B) and the bench (C).?
"Another team with an assortment of bodies but no real chemistry to speak of, yet," Schuhmann writes of Washington's reserves. Perhaps Schuhmann's most interesting grade involves the coaching. The mark handed out, a "D."
"As they say in the world of analytics, numbers never lie. Randy Wittman's career record is rough (147-291 in his career and 47-84 in Washington). But he found something with the Wizards in the second half of the last season."
If indeed Wittman's entire head coaching career record is part of the grading equation, then the mark in understandable (though it's worth mentioning Wittman was never handed an established winning team in Cleveland,[http://www.greenbaypackersjerseys.com/green-bay-packers-jersey-wholesale-6 Wholesale Packers Jersey], Minnesota or Washington). Also, no matter how strongly the Wizards finished last season, they started 4-28, won only 29 games total and missed the playoffs.

If defense is about desire, then props to Wittman for getting his squad to rank among the top-10 teams in defense. That goes double considering the brutal start. Unlike previous coaches, Wittman had no issue sitting knucklehead types like Jordan Crawford when they acted out regardless of his other personnel options. "We've definitely gotten a year smarter," , general manager of sales and marketing for Surface, said in an interview.
The redesigned Surface tablets come at a time of transition for Microsoft. Earlier this month, Microsoft struck a deal to acquire Nokia's phone and services business for $7.2 billion. The company is also searching for a new CEO to replace , who announced last month that he plans to retire within the next year.

Microsoft is selling the Surface 2 starting at $449 and will continue to offer last year's Surface RT for $349.
The Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2 will come with 200 gigabytes of free online storage through SkyDrive for two years, as well as free calls and Wi-Fi hotspots through Skype for a year. The new tablets will go on sale Oct. 22, a few days after Microsoft releases its 8.1 update to its Windows 8 operating system on Oct. 17. The screen on both new models remains at 10.6 inches, measured diagonally.
Keyboard covers will cost extra: $120 for a Touch Cover 2, which has working, printed keyboard on the inside surface but whose keys don't move when pushed, and $130 for Type Cover 2, which have keys that move. A new Power Cover with a built-in spare battery will cost about $200 when it comes out early next year.
A $200 docking station also will come out early next year and will work only with Pro models, including the older one already out. Hall said Microsoft chose not to make the Pro 2 smaller so that accessories would be compatible.
In an interview, Hall said the company will fine-tune its marketing strategy by showing specific things that the Surface can do in ads. Last year's ads, he said, tried to create an energetic feeling, but failed to show consumers what the tablets did.
Hall also said Microsoft won't try to compete directly with 's popular iPad. Microsoft is positioning the Surface as ideal for tasks people normally tackle on laptops, such as creating documents and editing movies. == Officials won't say if Maine suspected of terrorist links ==

<html>Gunmen from the Somali group al-Shabab attacked the Westgate mall in Nairobi, killing at least 62 people and taking an unknown number of hostages. On Sunday, a list of 17 supposed attackers and their home towns or states was posted on a Twitter account purportedly run by al-Shabab. One was listed as being from Maine.
 The list surprised many in law enforcement who scrambled Monday to determine its authenticity.

We don't have the identities confirmed. 
 Bresson would not say what the bureau was doing to verify the list or confirm whether the Twitter post came from al-Shabab.
 The Washington Post reported that al-Shabab said it had not issued the tweet and had not released names or any other details about the people in the attack. That was verified by a group that tracks extremist groups, the Post reported.
 The Kenyan foreign minister, Amina Mohamed, told PBS NewsHour that two or three Americans are among the gunmen. He described them as young men ... between maybe 18 and 19, of Somali or Arab origin.
 However, early in the day, BBC reported on Twitter that Abu Omar, al-Shabab's military commander in Somalia, denied that any Britons or Americans had participated in the attack.
 Even before the list was published, terrorism analysts and a congressional leader on terrorism issues, Rep. Pete King, R-N.Y., said the FBI should be probing communities including Portland for possible recruitment of al-Shabab terrorists.
 King said al-Shabab has recruited as many as 50 people from Somali-American communities and 15 to 20 of them remain active.
