He was one year removed from taking the Wranglers to the Kelly Cup Finals in 2012, but after a disappointing first-round exit (the team’s third in four years), the team decided to go in a different direction. “We’re all disappointed that we didn’t get past the first round,” Jacobs said. “These things are always tough.” Jacobs said there is no timetable on when a replacement would be hired, but added that he would like to make the decision sooner than later. He added the franchise doesn’t plan on splitting the general manager and coaching duties. “We think at this level, it makes sense to have someone as a GM and a head coach,” Jacobs said. “We’ll find somebody who is looking forward to make a change in Las Vegas with their career.
