East (24-0) and Lathrop (20-0) are the only teams left without a loss in the double-elimination tournament and will face each other Saturday at 9:30 a.m.,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/Penguins-25-Talbot-blue-Jerseys-18386/ Penguins 25 Talbot blue Jerseys], for a spot in the large school championship game at 1:30 p.m. "An undefeated team from the north and an undefeated team from Anchorage, it should be a good ballgame,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/Reds-19-Votto-White-Jerseys-558/ Reds 19 Votto White Jerseys]," East coach Paul Schoenborn said. "Hopefully we'll perform. Should be fun." East, the defending state champion, performed well enough to notch double-digit run totals in each win Friday. The Thunderbirds knocked off Colony 12-1 in the first round and dropped Juneau 10-7 in the second round. Lathrop's wins were lower scoring. The Malemutes defeated South 5-1 in the first round and took advantage of a West error to escape with a 3-2 win over the Eagles. Backed by strong pitching from Pauline Tufi, West held a 2-0 lead on Lathrop going into the bottom of the sixth inning of a seven-inning game. Lathrop loaded the bases with two outs and Salena Maxwell at the plate. Maxwell grounded a ball back to Tufi, who tossed it to first base for what looked like an inning-ending play. The problem was, the ball bounced out of the first baseman's glove and down the right-field foul line,[http://www.familylinkmobile.com/index.php?option=com_blog&view=comments&pid=279965&Itemid=0 SEO UAE and web content for more visitors], allowing all three base runners to score. Lathrop led 3-2. West went down in order in the top of the seventh. Lathrop pitcher Kacey Duffield struck out the final batter with Tufi waiting on deck. Tufi was 3 for 3 with a single, double and triple. "The softball gods are on our side, there," Lathrop coach Bill Duffield said. "Pauline's a competitor and we knew she'd be tough to face, but our girls just showed resilience and came through at the end there." Lathrop came up with two hits, one by Ciara Olalde and one from Payge Scanlon-Boswood. Jamie Bingham scored both runs for West, one coming on a solo home run in the fifth inning. For West, which beat West Valley 8-0 in the first round,[http://www.syhw8.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=30169&do=blog&id=200119 SEO Done The Right Way], the loss meant a third game had to be played Friday. The Eagles stayed alive with a 6-4 win against Chugiak in a late losers bracket game. Juneau bounced back to beat West Valley 11-2 in the other late losers bracket game and will face West on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. "I'd rather work from this position than from the position of beating (Lathrop), because I know we are gonna have to face them again," said Tufi. "I want to face them when they have all to lose and we don't have anything to lose." For East and Lathrop, winning comes with the added advantage of only having to play two games Friday and needing just two more wins for a state title. Teams that fell to the losers bracket played three to stay alive Friday and will need four straight wins Saturday to claim a title. "We need to go home and rest up for Lathrop," said East's Taria Page. "We can't just lay down for them. We have to work hard and bring our best defense." East's defense was helpless on a few occasions against Juneau, which got home runs from Randi Held, Malin Murray, Gracie Meiners and Savanna Schauwechker. "They're a good team and we knew had to work hard," Page said. "They step up their game every time they come to state." The Thunderbirds' offense beat Juneau to the punch, however,[http://www.nsl.co.jp/jinzai/postmail.cgi Ecommerce Fulfillment - For A Prosperous Business], extending a 4-2 lead to 9-2 with a five-run rally in the bottom of the fourth inning. Leilani Blair, Gabby Meyerson and Morgan Hill each finished with two hits for East, with Blair and Meyerson each scoring twice. Ketchikan, Sitka pace small schools Ketchikan and Sitka each experienced massive victory margins Friday in the small schools softball state tournament at Cartee Fields, each winning twice to advance to Saturday's winners-bracket semifinal. Ketchikan started its day with a 24-0 first-round blowout of Hutchison and then took out Homer 6-4 in the second round. Sitka stormed by Kodiak 13-5 in the first round before rolling by Eielson 16-1 in the second round of the double-elimination tournament. Ketchikan and Sitka face off at 9 a.m., the winner moving in to the small schools championship game at 1 p.m., and the loser will face the winner of a losers bracket game between Eielson and Homer. Flooding in the western province of Sichuan was the worst in 50 years for some areas, with more than 220,000 people forced to evacuate. Nationwide, at least 46 people have died due to the violent weather since Sunday, according to figures from the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the official Xinhua News Agency. Thousands of homes have been destroyed or damaged and transportation has come to a virtual standstill in hard-hit areas. Many of the casualties in Sichuan were from a massive landslide that struck a scenic resort outside the city of Dujiangyan, killing 18 people and leaving 107 missing. An entire hillside collapsed onto clusters of holiday cottages where city dwellers escape summer heat, a survivor told Xinhua. "The noise was like thunder and went on for two or three minutes. My first thought was that I too would be buried," Gao Quanshi, 47, was quoted as saying. Phone lines were cut,[http://park7.wakwak.com/~nymidi/cgi-bin/Y1dicPbUXGVlxwg5TR4vX/light.cgi?res=488 Best ways to Increase Website Traffic], so villagers had to trek to nearby government offices to call for help, he said. Overall in Sichuan, there were at least 31 people dead and 166 missing, said the provincial department of civil affairs. A mudslide in Sichuan's Aba prefecture left three people dead and 12 others missing, Xinhua said. Mudslides and flooding are common in China's mountainous areas, killing hundreds of people every year, but in some areas the current floods are already the worst in half a century. Reports said the 94 centimeters (37 inches) of rainfall that fell on Dujiangyan over 40 hours beginning Monday was the heaviest since records began being kept in 1954. Also in the west, more than 2,000 people were rescued after being trapped for several hours Wednesday in a highway tunnel between Dujiangyan and Wenchuan - the epicenter of the Sichuan earthquake five years ago that left 90,000 people dead or missing. Bridges have been closed and train service suspended in some parts of the province. In nearby Beichuan county, flooding destroyed buildings and wrecked exhibits at a memorial for earthquake victims. The flooding also caused the collapse of an almost 50-year-old bridge in a neighboring county, sending six vehicles into the raging waters and leaving 12 people missing. The region lies in the foothills of the Tibetan Plateau, where mountains rise sharply from the densely populated Sichuan basin. Fast-running rivers quickly overflowed their banks, flooding scores of towns and parts of the provincial capital of Chengdu, where the waters rose to the second floor and covered the tops of cars. In Chengdu, stone bridges and brick houses along river banks were swept away, including one in which the residents were taking shelter, while others crumbled into the saturated earth already rent with fissures from the magnitude-8.9 2008 earthquake. In the northern province of Shanxi, at least 12 workers were killed Tuesday when a violent rainstorm caused the collapse of an unfinished coal mine workshop they were building. Another three people were drowned in a car in Hebei province outside the capital, while an additional 11 people were reported dead or missing in Yunnan province, Beijing, Inner Mongolia and Gansu province.</html> == Finance To Lead Second == <html>Second-quarter earnings season unofficially begins after the closing bell on Monday with aluminum manufacturer Alcoa’s (AA) report. While companies such as Oracle (ORCL) and Nike (NKE) have already reported their earnings over the past week, Alcoa’s earnings are highly anticipated because the vast range of the company’s operations is seen as uniquely representative of the state of global economic growth. Analysts expect the company to reports earnings-per-share of $0.08, slightly up from the previous quarter, while revenue is expected to drop to $5.92 billion. Overall, expectations for the Q2 earnings season that is just getting underway are low. Back in April, earnings growth for companies on the Standard Poor’s 500 index was forecast at an average of 3.9 percent from the prior-year period, a figure which has dropped to 0.4 percent heading into the current week. The finance sector, however,[http://bbs.zhixian.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=480557 Benefits of Hiring a Search Engine Marketing Agency], and in contrast to Q1, should be the bright spot over the next few weeks. JPMorgan Chase Co. (JPM) and Wells Fargo Co. (WFC) report on Friday, which will give a more concrete picture of how the sector has advanced, but expectations are high. While the first quarter saw an overall earnings increase of 7.6 percent, the recently ended quarter should see the sector’s earnings jump to 18.6 percent.JPMorgan on its own is expected to report earnings-per-share of $1.43, well ahead of the prior year period’s $1.15. After Wednesday’s close, Yum! Brands (YUM) earnings report should provide some insight into the Chinese economy, which has been a growing source of concern for investors in recent weeks with increasing fears about a lag in growth. While the fast-food chain has a worldwide presence,[http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?campid=5336182395&customid=pubster&toolid=10013&mpre=http%3A//cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4Pcs-24CM-PVC-LED-CAR-TRUCK-FLEXIBLE-LIGHT-STRIP-YELLOW-/320606899868 Website Design- Making All The Difference], its performance is seen mainly as an indicator of Chinese consumer sentiment. An average of analyst estimates says that Yum!’s revenue will be down nearly 8 percent on the prior-year period, while earnings-per-share should come in at $0.54, a decrease of 19.4 percent, after a first-quarter during which earnings were also 25 percent lower than the same period the year before. In terms of consumer sentiment in the US, Gap Inc. (GPS) will report its earnings on Thursday. Specialty retail alone is a limited measurement of spending trends, and the Gap has already been executing and seeing results from its shrewd implementation of a turnaround strategy over the past few quarters. The company’s stock in up over 40 percent year-to-date and almost 60 percent over the past 12 months, and it has beat earnings estimates in three out of the last four quarters. Furthermore, Gap,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/Phillies-54-Brad-Lidge-grey-Jerseys-1359/ Phillies 54 Brad Lidge grey Jerseys], like Nike (NKE), who met expectations on earnings-per-share and revenue in its report last week, has been increasingly relying on an internationalized, emerging markets-oriented strategy in order to decrease dependence on North American sales. The Gap is looking to generate 30 percent of its sales from overseas and online sales for fiscal 2013. The tech sector is expected to have its second rough quarter of the fiscal year, with earnings forecasts dropping 8.3 percent on the prior year period, after a 4.2 percent year-over-year decrease in Q1. PC makers continue to be the tech’s softest spot. Much like the first quarter, lower earnings expectations may help companies overall, but this first week of reports will be overshadowed to a large extent by another type of release on Wednesday,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/NBA-Miami-Heat-Big-&-Tall-Primary-Logo-Red-Women-s-T-Shirt-28594/ NBA Miami Heat Big & Tall Primary Logo Red Women's T-Shirt], in the form of the minutes from Federal Open Market Committee’s June meeting, to be followed by another press conference from Chairman Ben Bernanke. Investors will be anxiously watching the FOMC and Bernanke for further indications about the possibility of the tapering of fiscal stimulus beginning as early as September. Indeed, after Bernanke first floated the idea of the Fed’s cutting back on asset purchases by late-year during a press conference last month, indices dropped sharply for several days,[http://park7.wakwak.com/~nymidi/cgi-bin/Y1dicPbUXGVlxwg5TR4vX/light.cgi?res=492 Web-based Movie films internet sites for Your Need], with the S P 500 down almost 5 percent, a loss from which it has not yet entirely recovered. More hawkish insinuations from the Fed could undermine the ability of positive earnings data to drive stocks upwards, and could punish them more harshly in the event of underwhelming data. Ever since markets reacted frantically to the Chairman’s June 19 press conference, messaging out of regional central bank officials has been one of reassurance when it comes to the connection between continued economic growth and the tapering of bond purchases.</html> == LONDON- More questions- UK lawmakers to recall Murdoch == <html>LONDON British lawmakers will recall Rupert Murdoch to London for further questions about a leaked recording in which he appeared to dismiss evidence of wrongdoing at his U.K. newspaper titles, a senior parliamentarian said Tuesday. The recording - obtained by the ExaroNews website and broadcast on Britain's Channel 4 - caught Murdoch describing the allegations against his journalists as "next to nothing," boasting that his lawyers were refusing to actively cooperate with investigators, and speaking dismissively about accusations of bribery leveled against his newspaper empire. "We're talking about payments for news tips from cops," he was quoted as saying. "That's been going on a hundred years." The recording - allegedly made secretly when Murdoch addressed staffers from The Sun newspaper back in March - made waves in Britain because it appeared to be at odds with Murdoch's vigorous public condemnations of illegal behavior at his newspaper titles. When Murdoch last appeared before parliamentary committee members, just after the scandal over phone hacking broke two years ago, he struck an apologetic tone,[http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220683313529&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Professional SEO Services VS DIY SEO], saying the appearance was "the most humble day of my life." Hacking phones or corrupting police officers to win scoops was "totally wrong," he told lawmakers at the time. "There is no excuse for breaking the law at any time." John Whittingdale, who chairs the House of Commons' Culture, Media and Sport Committee, said his colleagues voted Tuesday to recall Murdoch for questions over the recording. In a brief telephone interview, Whittingdale said the committee's letter inviting Murdoch back had not yet been sent and that he could not provide any details on when the mogul would be asked to reappear. News UK,[http://cgi.members.interq.or.jp/rap/takepee/i/epad/epad.cgi?res=75071 Social Media Marketing And SEO Why Your Online Ma], the British newspaper arm of Murdoch's media empire,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/National-League-19-Votto-2012-All-Star-dk-blue-Jersey-16519/ National League 19 Votto 2012 All-Star dk blue Jersey], referred questions to News Corp. in the United States, which declined to comment. News UK - until recently known as News International - has been in crisis ever since the scandal exploded. A slew of police and parliamentary investigations into voicemail interception, bribery, computer hacking, and the use of private investigators have led to the arrests, resignations, or prosecutions of dozens of journalists, executives, and other employees. Murdoch was forced to close his top-selling Sunday tabloid, the News of the World, shortly after the scandal broke, and morale at its sister paper, The Sun, has been battered by bribery charges leveled against some of its most senior editors. In the recording, Murdoch appears to promise his staffers he'll look after them no matter what. "I will do everything in my power to give you total support, even if you're convicted and get six months or whatever,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/Giants-35-Ishikawa-Grey-Jerseys-766/ Giants 35 Ishikawa Grey Jerseys]," he was quoted as saying. "What you're asking is, what happens if some of you are proven guilty? What afterwards? I'm not allowed to promise you ... I've got to be careful what comes out - but frankly, I won't say it, but just trust me." In earlier testimony given before the House of Commons' Home Affairs Committee, Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Cressida Dick told lawmakers her force was seeking a copy of the recording with an eye toward "assessing the full contents of that tape." She also confirmed that Murdoch's company had ceased actively cooperating with investigators. "Since May of this year, voluntary cooperation has been significantly reduced," she said. Dick also gave lawmakers an update on the investigations which sprang from the scandal. She told lawmakers there had been 126 arrests, 42 charges, and six convictions. Dick said that police don't anticipate many more arrests, a signal that the investigations - which have so far cost more than 20 million pounds ($30 million) - may finally be winding down. Her colleague, Commander Neil Basu, told lawmakers that police had identified 5,500 potential victims of phone hacking by journalists and their private investigators - of which 1,000 of them had been identified as "likely victims." He also said police had identified more than 400 victims of police bribery,[http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~h-tanaka/apri/i/bbs/bbs.cgi?res=21798 Channel Your Career with SEO and PHP Training], and said that authorities were investigating more than 150 allegations of computer hacking. Rookies Brandon Barnes and Jake Elmore hit two-run homers and the struggling Astros (32-56) beat the Rangers (50-37) for the first time since a March 31 season-opener. Less than four hours after being named to the 2013 MLB All-Star game as an American League reserve, Castro again proved why he s been the Astros best overall player this season. I m at a pretty comfortable place just in my approach and my mechanics, Castro said. Everything s coming together and I ve been happy with some of the work that I ve put in to get me where I m at. Rangers starter Yu Darvish came one out away from throwing a perfect game against the Astros on April 2. The Astros recorded three runs against the righty May 11, though, and Barnes made it 2-0 Astros on Saturday when he hammered a 1-2 fastball into left-center field for a two-run homer. Darvish was consistently hittable during the initial four innings. Marc Krauss, Jimmy Paredes and Castro collected singles, Brett Wallace doubled down the right-field line, and Darvish hit 98 pitches before the sixth inning arrived. They managed their at-bats well and really got good pitches to hit. Darvish walked Carlos Pena to load the bases with two outs in the fifth. Krauss then drove an 84 mph slider to right field, scoring two and pushing the Astros lead to 4-0. While Darvish struggled with command issues, Astros starter Dallas Keuchel was confident and smooth. The second-year lefty allowed just four hits and struck out the same during the initial five innings, holding the Rangers scoreless with a mixture of fastballs,[http://www.frbiz.com/products/j-37177487/ipad_cover_cgi_005.html The Actual Difference In between Senuke And Senuke], sliders and changeups. Keuchel was removed with two on and no outs in the sixth. Reliever Paul Clemens turned the ball over to lefthander Wesley Wright, who proceeded to give up a three-run home run to right-center field to righthanded hitter Geovany Soto. The shot suddenly tied the game at 4 and it took Castro s three-run blast in the seventh to give the Astros breathing room again. Elmore s first MLB home run a two-run rocket to left field in the eighth put the Astros six outs away from their first win against the Rangers since Rick Ankiel was in uniform. Chicharito scored his second goal of the night to tie it up at 2-2 in the 71st minute. He tapped in a ball with the outside of his foot past Nigerian keeper Austin Ejide off a feed from Carlos Salcido. Chicharito opened the match s scoring with a goal in the 21st minute. Barrera fired a cross in front of the net, and Chicharito booted the pass with his right foot in front of Nigerian keeper Austin Ejide. It was great movement off the ball by Chicharito. He set up goal with pass out wide and then rifled his shot from just outside 6-yard box. Nigeria evened the match at 1-1 with a penalty kick from Aide Brown Ideye in the 29th minute. Brown Ideye was given the penalty kick after a red card was called on Barrera, who handed the ball in the box. Nigeria took the lead in the 40th minute. After another brutal attack in the mountains on Sunday, Froome leads Bauke Mollema and Alberto Contador by more than four minutes with only six stages left four of them suited to him. There is a time trial on Wednesday, followed by three straight days of tortuous climbs in the Alps. But winning looks like the easy part. The 28-year-old Froome's physical superiority at the 100th Tour has raised eyebrows,[http://wikipublic.icograda.org/index.php/User:Oranjijmm58#Five_Link_Building_Tactics_That_You_Should_Avoid_After_Panda Five Link Building Tactics That You Should Avoid After Panda], practically inevitable in the climate of suspicion that haunts cycling after Lance Armstrong was stripped of his seven titles for serial doping. This year's race is the first since Armstrong lost his titles, and Froome understands the tone of the questions. Still, he was unhappy that doping became a main topic of his news conference on Monday's rest day. That followed his stage win on Mont Ventoux, a mammoth climb in Provence that he tamed with two blistering attacks and where he left Contador the 2007 and '09 Tour champion lagging behind. "I just think it's quite sad that we're sitting here the day after the biggest victory of my life ... quite a historic win, talking about doping," Froome said. "Here I am basically being accused of being a cheat and a liar and that's not cool. "To compare me with Lance, I mean, Lance cheated. I'm not cheating. End of story." With so many of cycling's recent exploits later shown to have been drug-assisted, people understandably want to know whether they should continue believing. Froome's performances are subject to intense debate on social media, cycling blogs and in mainstream media. "I can assure you that we are thinking very, very hard about the optimal way of proving to you guys that we're not doping," Sky team manager Dave Brailsford said Monday, adding that the World Anti-Doping Agency could help by appointing an expert to scrutinize Froome. "They can come and live with us,[http://www.z-shoseki.co.jp/bbs_sports/epad_bm.cgi?job=form&no=620 Details About Search Engine Optimization Service I]," Brailsford said. "They can have all of our information. They can see all of our data." Brailsford and Froome would much rather be focusing on the Alps. And judging by what Contador saw on the 21-kilometer (13-mile) ascent up Ventoux, the Spaniard has every reason to fear more misery there. "My objective was to win the Tour, but (Froome) is a level above the rest," Contador said. If Contador thinks Ventoux was tough, then he will be dreading Thursday's 18th stage featuring two big climbs up l'Alpe d'Huez, one of the Tour's most famed mountain passes. That is bad enough, but Friday's 204.5-kilometer (127-mile) trek from Bourg d'Oisans to Le Grand-Bornand looks horrendous. There is simply no respite. The day begins with two massive climbs,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/Youth-Nike-Bears-15-Marshall-Blue-Game-Jerseys-19576/ Youth Nike Bears 15 Marshall Blue Game Jerseys], known as HC (Hors Categorie, essentially meaning they are beyond classification because they are so tough) and finishes with two nasty Category 1 climbs, a level just below HC but still incredibly hard. For good measure, Saturday's stage ends with a 10.7-kilometer (6.6-mile) HC climb up to Semnoz. Froome, however,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/Nike-Panthers-1-Cam-Newton-Pink-Women-Draft-Him-II-Top-Jerseys-21910/ Nike Panthers 1 Cam Newton Pink Women Draft Him II Top Jerseys],[http://cgi.tako.ne.jp/~friends/bbs3/light.cgi?res=13734 The Way To Do Successful Email Advertising], remains wary of Contador. "There are a lot of very eager racers in the peloton left with a lot still to prove," Froome said. "For us it's about keeping the yellow jersey and riding in whatever way we can to best defend (it). I don't think we are necessarily on a mission to try and win every mountain top finish." There is a glimmer of hope for Contador, however, because Froome's Sky teammates have struggled at times. On two stages, Froome had to fend for himself. If that happens again in the Alps and if he has a bad day he could yet lose a serious amount of time. "Yes, there is one stage I am looking at. It could be a good day to try something," Contador said through a translator. "I'm going to look for an opportunity. In one week's time you'll know which one it was." Sky now has seven riders because Edvald Boasson Hagen retired with injury last week and Vasil Kiryienka missed the time cut on Stage 9. "We lost a lot of our horsepower, our engine room," Froome said. "Since then it's been about managing the resources we do have and trying to get through each day as best we can. I feel the guys have done a fantastic job." Froome may need a little bit more of a cushion, though, and could target the 32-kilometer (20-mile) time trial. The race resumes on Tuesday with a medium mountain stage from Vaison-la-Romaine to Gap in the Alps. Manziel on Monday pled guilty to failing to identify himself to police after a June 2012 fight in the Northgate bar district, according to Brazos County attorney Rod Anderson. Manziel will pay the maximum fine of $2,000, spend two days in jail and pay $232 in court costs. He won’t spend any actual jail time, however, since he had already been behind bars following his arrest. Also, a misdemeanor charge of fighting from the same incident had been dismissed in municipal court, and as part of the agreement misdemeanor a charge of possessing a fake license was dismissed. ETFs are securities that track the performance of a commodity or a basket of assets much in the same way as an index fund, but that trade on an exchange in the same way as a stock. Their attraction as an investment tool comes from their dexterity, as ETFs can be designed to replicate the performance of just about anything, from commodities like gold and oil, to different groupings of companies, to types of countries. Indeed, emerging market ETFs are a good example given their enormous recent popularity with the rise of rapidly developing counties such as Brazil, Turkey, China, and India. Several days of steep sell-off on the bond market, triggered almost two weeks ago after Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke announced that the central bank would like to slow down on its massive monthly asset purchases in the near future, hit all asset classes, and ETFs were by no means spared. But the reaction on the ETF market could not be explained away in its entirety by the general sell-off, and instead pointed to what could emerge as a significant problem with the very way in which ETFs are constructed. On Thursday June 20,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/Nike-Seahawks-89-Baldwin-Blue-Limited-Jerseys-23571/ Nike Seahawks 89 Baldwin Blue Limited Jerseys],[http://www.shuang11youhui.com/bbs/thread-127777-1-1.html Social Media Dynamics and Guidelines], one day after Bernankes post-FOMC press conference, not only did ETFs drop in price as traders and investors flocked to the exits, the disparity between the price of ETFs and the price of their underlying assets widened dramatically. In other words, the $2 trillion ETF market watched as ETFs became cheaper than the actual assets they seek to track, and investors subsequently moved in large numbers to redeem those assets. After one Citigroup (C) trading desk reached its allocation limits, the bank had to stop accepting orders from ETF issuers to sell-off their underlying assets, while State Street (STT) for its part said that it would stop accepting cash redemption orders from dealers of municipal bond products. What is of particular concern is the ability of ETFs to drag down the actual price of their own underlying assets. But this development was not entirely unexpected; A November from the Kansas City-based Kauffman Foundation, an organization that conducts research and promotes education in economics and entrepreneurship, foretold of the predicament that was highlighted in the recent sell-off. The reports authors,[http://web.kaya.or.jp/cgi-bin/bbs/user05/bbs.cgi?page=0%2520%2520%2520%2520%2520%2520%2520%2520%2520%2520%2520Result:%2520chosen%2520nickname%2520%25 Online reputation Management an effective way to], Harold Bradley and Robert Litan, warned that ETFs pose systemic risks to the global economy that are not unlike the ones seen with the so-called flash crash that occurred some months prior to the reports release. Bradley summed up this danger rather succinctly, saying ETFs are radically changing the markets, to the point where they, and not the trading of the underlying securities, are effectively setting the prices of stocks of smaller capitalization companies, or the potential new growth companies of the future. The report goes on to note that while the original promise of ETFs was in their ability to provide investors with an affordable way to assemble diversified stock holdings, the funds are now undermining the traditional price discovery role of exchanges,[http://www.kayamameat.com/bbs/glight02/glight.cgi best seo tips for newbies in seo and internet plan], and in turn, discouraging new companies from wanting to be listed on U.S. exchanges. The that was seen at the end of last month, however, was not just limited in its consequences to deterring or even harming aspiring growth companies from entering the market. Rather, Citigroup and Sate Streets temporary suspension of sell orders point to more ominous consequences resulting from the ETF markets ability to artificially distort the costs of underlying assets. The result is a situation in which the ETFs relationship to its underlying assets becomes parasitic, and this could have drastic consequences for the global economy. Emerging Market economies, who have seen an influx of investment thanks to the popularity of Emerging Market ETFs,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/NBA-Caps-029-9727/ NBA Caps-029], could take a serious hit if the type of outflow that has been seen over the past two weeks gets any more serious than it already is. Furthermore, there is no telling what form the reaction from investors would take if the practice of temporarily preventing them from cashing out on underlying assets spreads from Citigroup and State Street spreads to other financial institutions in the event of a more severe sell-off.</html> == Ultimate Rockets McHale embraces task of elevating H == <html>By Corey Roepken Rockets coach Kevin McHale has always marveled at Dwight Howard’s ability. Now, the brilliant former Celtics big man will have the opportunity to mold a player he considers one of the dominant centers in the NBA. The 6-11 Howard signed a four-year deal Saturday morning to officially join McHale’s Rockets. That gives the Rockets an edge against almost every other team in the NBA, but only, McHale said,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/2012-2013-National-Team-Ghana-blank-Away-red-Jerseys-14878/ 2012-2013 National Team Ghana blank Away red Jerseys], if he fulfills his responsibility. “My job is to put him into positions to succeed. That should be easy,[http://teilen.dyden.de/index.php?title=Benutzer:Qwerty196 Friday in the Alaska Baseball League],” McHale said. “I told him if he’s not dominating at both ends of the floor in the paint, I’m not doing a good enough job getting him to play to his potential.” Though Howard, 27,[http://lmjxjlb.com/member/index.php?uid=oranjijmm08 SEO Or PPC - That Is The Question], played in 76 of 82 regular-season games with the Lakers last year, he is coming off one of his most frustrating seasons. He suffered through back and shoulder injuries while Los Angeles struggled and barely made the playoffs. Howard had his lowest rebounding average since 2007 and his lowest scoring average since 2006. A new beginning The 2012-13 season didn’t go well for the Lakers. Coach Mike Brown was fired after five games. Two-time MVP point guard Steve Nash missed the first seven weeks with an injury. Kobe Bryant tore his Achilles tendon with two games left in the regular season and missed the playoffs. Howard described his most recent campaign as “very, very tough” and said he’s looking forward to the opportunity to start fresh in Houston. McHale said that’s a big reason he expects Howard to return to form when he puts on the Rockets uniform. “You have to play free of mind,” McHale said. “When you have a lot of stuff going on it’s hard to play. He’s at a great age where he has his athleticism and a lot of the youthful exuberance. Yet he has 10 years under his belt.” Even the best players need to be healthy to be effective. McHale said the Rockets got good reports about Howard’s shoulder and back, and that he will be fine when they begin working together Monday. Nothing new in the bag He said there are no specific moves he hopes to teach Howard. Rather, he wants him to use his quickness more because his combination of quickness and strength can be unstoppable. “We need to get him back to being quick with the ball,[http://www2.toua-u.ac.jp/cgi-bin/bbs/vbbbs.cgi?res=12170 The Barrows is a very popular, challenging and dan], being decisive and attacking,” McHale said. “He can change direction. He can elevate. When he’s in attack mode he’s way better than when he’s just plodding.” If everything goes according to plan, the Rockets should be a balanced team that can beat opponents in a variety of ways. They have guard James Harden, who can get to the basket with the best, and an array of outside shooters like Chandler Parsons who will keep perimeter defenders from helping on Howard in the low post. With scoring threats all around the court, Howard could find more room than ever to operate. If that’s the case, he said he’s looking forward to returning to his form as the most dominating big man in the NBA. “That’s what I’ve always expected out of myself,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/Penguins-71-Malki-black-kids-Jerseys-6863/ Penguins 71 Malki black kids Jerseys],” Howard said. “Before I got injured that’s what I did every night. I dominated the paint at both ends of the floor. The biggest thing is going out there, having fun and dominating.”</html> == How Americans Spend for the Fourth of July 0 == <html>As many Americans are deck from head to toe in red, white and blue,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/2012-13-Ireland-Blank-Away-Jerseys(no-ad-on-chest)-26244/ 2012-13 Ireland Blank Away Jerseys(no ad on chest)], the Fourth of July is one of the most beloved American holidays. Postgame, the Astros’ former No. 2 starter — now a long reliever indefinitely demoted to the bullpen — calmly and willingly answered questions about his new, undefined role and uncertain future with a rebuilding team. “It was just one of those things where you don’t really think it’s the best thing, but it’s just one of those deals where it is what it is,” Harrell said following the Astros’ 5-4 loss to the Rangers on Sunday. “You just kind of have to do it, and you just kind of wear it.” While Harrell’s move to the bullpen is being made in the hope he can regain his 2012 form, it’s also being done to send a message to the mercurial righthander, who has blamed everything from the club’s increased defensive shifts to a lack of offense for his 2013 struggles. Harrell, 28, was a candidate for the club’s No. 1 spot during spring training and the Astros’ best overall pitcher in 2012. This year, he’s alternately been one of the American League’s best and worst hurlers. Harrell is 5-9 with a 5.04 ERA. He’s allowed one or no earned runs in 10 of his 19 starts. But he gave up seven earned runs Friday during the Astros’ 10-5 loss to the Rangers and has allowed five earned runs or more in six outings. “The overall answer to (his return) will come down to him,[http://www13.plala.or.jp/white_roots/gwbbs/gwbbs.cgi Should SEO Marketing Be A Part of the On-line Tech],” Astros manager Bo Porter said. “Sometimes we take a step backward to take three steps forward. And it all depends on how you take the news — (it) will go a long way in how you are able to get through this phase of your career.” Harrell went 11-11 with a 3.76 ERA in 2012, striking out 140 and walking 78 in 193 innings. This season,[http://cgi.members.interq.or.jp/rap/takepee/i/epad/epad.cgi?res=23567 Effective and affordable SEO], his strikeout-to-walk ratio has fallen to 1.26 (67 strikeouts, 53 walks), and he’s failed to reach the fifth inning in five starts. Harrell said he received no instruction about what he’s supposed to work on as a reliever and acknowledged his 10 strong outings this season make it “kind of tough to move a guy like (me) down to the bullpen.” The fourth-year veteran has long been mentioned in trade rumors. Harrell would likely be a No. 4 or 5 starter on a winning team, though, and everything from his age and unproven track record to his uneven 2013 season limit his value as the July 31 deadline approaches. Asked if he wants to remain with the Astros, Harrell provided a complicated answer. “I mean, yeah,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/USC-Trojans-4-red-Jerseys-2879/ USC Trojans 4 red Jerseys],” he said. “It’s one of those things where you’ve got a new regime in here. So they’re going to try their guys and see what happens.” Rotation tweak before break The Astros will play five games in seven days before the All-Star break, and Bo Porter has yet to set the club’s rotation for a three-game series at Tampa Bay. The manager said a new fifth starter could be named, and a short-term move — promoting a pitcher already on the 25-man roster from the bullpen — is an option. However, the Astros could simply use four starters until the break. Bud Norris is scheduled to start Tuesday at St. Louis, and Jordan Lyles will face the Cardinals on Wednesday. Brad Peacock and Jarred Cosart are among the candidates for promotion from Class AAA Oklahoma City. But the Astros also have starters turned relievers such as Paul Clemens, Brett Oberholtzer and Travis Blackley in their bullpen. “It all depends. As the next couple days go along, Jeff (Luhnow) and Doug (Brocail) and myself and the staff, we’ll talk about it and try to figure out what’s the best move,” Porter said. “It really is one start before we finish the first half of the season before we head into the All-Star break. And then we basically will go back to a five-man rotation in earnest throughout the course of the regular season.” brian.smith@chron.com twitter.com/chronastros</html> == JUNEAU, Alaska- Murkowski, Begich split on student loan vote == <html>JUNEAU,[http://dl.lakokine.com/wiki/index.php/Utilisateur:Qwerty175#FORT_LAUDERDALE.2C_Fla.-_Staycation_for_pets_is_solution_for_o FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.- Staycation for pets is solution for o], Alaska Alaska's U.S. senators have split on moving forward with a bill that would have restored lower interest rates on federal subsidized Stafford loans for a year. Just hours before Thursday's expected floor vote, it was still unclear whether GOP leaders had the 218 votes needed to pass the new measure containing only farm programs. The food stamp part of the legislation would be dealt with separately at a later date. The legislation faces a veto threat from the White House, and House Democrats have reacted angrily to the last-minute move by the GOP. As late as Thursday morning, conservative groups and farm groups traditionally aligned with Republicans were also lobbying against the measure, as was the top Democrat on the House Agriculture Committee, Minnesota Rep. Collin Peterson. In an apparent effort to stem that opposition to the bill, the leaders were planning to move quickly. The new legislation was released late Wednesday and a vote was expected in the afternoon. No amendments were to be allowed. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, acknowledged that the process was unusual but said "my goal right now is to get a farm bill passed." The dropped food stamp section would have made a 3 percent cut to the $80 billion-a-year feeding program. Many Republicans say that isn't enough since the program's cost has doubled in the last five years. Democrats have opposed any cuts. The food stamp program doesn't need legislation to continue, but Congress would have to pass a bill to enact reforms. The split bill is an attempt to gather support from conservatives who voted against the $100 billion-a-year farm bill. The House rejected the farm bill in June by a vote of 234-195, with 62 Republicans voting against it. The idea of a split bill is that the farm portion,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/Nike-Colts-51-Angerer-White-Kids-Limited-Jerseys-24025/ Nike Colts 51 Angerer White Kids Limited Jerseys], which the Congressional Budget Office calculates would cost about $20 billion a year and contain about $1.3 billion a year in cuts to farm subsidies, could pass without the food stamp provisions. Republicans would then be able to make bigger cuts in food stamp programs,[http://www.jerseys-hearts.com/San-Diego-Chargers-Men-Customized-White-Jersey-12854/ San Diego Chargers Men Customized White Jersey], the thinking goes, and pass that bill with conservative support. Democrats opposing the bill called for procedural votes to delay the vote on the split bill and painted the legislation as taking the food stamps away from the hungry. "You are taking food out of the mouths of your own poor constituents,[http://meyasu-bako.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=145014 Find Reliable SEO Assistance from the Philippines]," Pelosi told Republicans in a floor speech. Several members of the Congressional Black Caucus spoke angrily against the bill as well. The White House agreed that food stamps should not be left out of the bill and threatened to veto it. The Obama administration had also threatened to veto the original bill, saying it did not include enough reductions to farm subsidies and the food stamp cuts were too severe. Few Democrats are expected to vote for the measure. Maryland Rep. Steny Hoyer, the No. 2 Democrat in the House, called it a "bill to nowhere" since the Democratic Senate is likely to add the food stamp money back in. "This dead-on-arrival messaging bill only seeks to accomplish one objective: to make it appear that Republicans are moving forward with important legislation even while they continue to struggle at governing," Hoyer said. Peterson was urging his colleagues to vote no, saying he sees "no clear path to getting a bill passed by the House and Senate and signed by the president." The Club for Growth and Heritage Action said they would use a vote for the bill against Republicans in upcoming campaigns, maintaining that the idea was a ruse to get the bill in conference with the Democratic-led Senate, where food stamps will be added back in with smaller cuts. The Senate overwhelmingly passed a farm bill last month with only a half-percent cut to food stamps and would be reluctant to go along with a split bill or further cuts to the programs. A memo sent out by Heritage Action Thursday morning targeted the only new provision in the revised farm bill - a repeal of farm laws from the 1930s and 1940s that kick in when current farm law expires. Farm-state lawmakers have kept those laws on the books so there would be incentive to pass new farm bills and avoid expiration, but the threat of outdated policies kicking in has been a headache for farmers who worry they can't depend on Congress to create new laws or extend more recent versions of the law. Repealing those decades-old laws could mean that Congress would have little incentive to create new farm bills, however, and could make many farm programs permanent. The conservative groups seized on that point to try and dissuade Republicans from voting for the bill, saying many of those farm programs are costly. "Market-distorting programs would continue indefinitely, like the government-imposed tariffs on sugar imports and quotas on domestic sugar production," read the Heritage Action memo. American Farm Bureau Federation President Bob Stallman sent a letter to members Thursday morning saying that passing only half of the farm bill could make eventual passage of farm legislation impossible. He said it was frustrating to the group's members that a broad agriculture coalition "appears to have been pushed aside in favor of interests that have no real stake in this farm bill." House Agriculture Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla.,[http://usaww.jp/cgi-local/bbs/joyful.cgi Discover What It Takes to Be More Productive as an], said as recently as last week that he opposed splitting the bill. But he has now reluctantly agreed to the strategy, saying he would support it if his Republican leaders could deliver the votes. Late Wednesday,[http://prosol2.jp/wiki/index.php?title=%E5%88%A9%E7%94%A8%E8%80%85:Qwerty584#Petric.27s_mental_state_key_to_motion_in_slaying_of_his_family Petric's mental state key to motion in slaying of his family], he gave a reserved endorsement of the plan to the GOP-controlled Rules Committee, which determines the procedures for floor debate. "Maybe the old dynamic of how we have done things since 1965 isn't valid anymore," he said. "Maybe it is time to try something different." Lucas said as he left the meeting just before midnight Wednesday that he didn't know whether the leadership had the 218 votes necessary for passage. Farm groups and anti-hunger groups have warned that separating the farm and nutrition programs after decades of linking them would be misguided. Rural lawmakers have long-added money for food stamps to the farm bill, which sets policy for agricultural subsidies and other farm programs, to gather urban votes for the measure. In a letter to Boehner, more than 500 farm groups last week asked the GOP leadership not to split the legislation. Lucas said he hopes a food stamp bill would come to the floor quickly, so the House and Senate can begin negotiations and get a farm bill passed. "The quicker that second bill is passed the easier it is to complete the whole process," he said. Follow Mary Clare Jalonick on Twitter: http://twitter.com/mcjalonick</html>
