Perhaps with some of that in mind, Boise State is apparently trying to get ahead of the curve as it relates to player safety and tackling. This spring, the Broncos experimented , the?Snake River Rugby Club.
“Coach (Chris) Petersen is always trying to get ahead of what’s coming next in the game, and we know that changes are coming because of concussions,” Boise State defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski told RugbyMag.com. “We look at rugby and see they’ve been able to manage it well, and it was really good for us.”
Some of the Snake River players apparently used to play football at Boise State, so there s a natural connection there. And the coaches said the football players were receptive to the experimental changes.
“Football players are taught to put the helmet into the chest and drive the player back,” Snake River coach Mike Saunders said. “And I know the coaches at Boise State are looking at a different way to go about it because of the issues with concussions.”
It’s hardly an in-depth piece, but it’s interesting nonetheless and it ll be interesting to see how, if at all, it translates on the field for the Broncos in the future. Will it matter? Hard to say, but it s a positive that more coaches are at least attempting to take steps to improve player safety.
Along the same lines, Sports Illustrated s Stewart Mandel has a piece about s. After recent grumbling by Alabama s Nick Saban and Arkansas Bret Bielema, Mandel talked to researchers who say the SEC coaches may be onto something. Maybe.

== BHS students awarded Eagle Rank 0 ==

<html><head><title>html模版</title></head><body>BHS students awarded Eagle Rank</br>BEAVERCREEK Beavercreek Varsity Scout Team 870 recently hosted a double barreled celebration of excellence as two of its members received the highly esteemed rank of Eagle Scout on the same day.

Jacob Dorsten and Micah Sullivan, both of whom recently completed their freshman year at Beavercreek High School, were recognized for their outstanding scouting achievements at their joint Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday, June 29.

Varsity Scout Team 870 is sponsored by the Xenia Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the Eagle Court of Honor was held in the LDS Church building at 3072 Shakertown Road.

The court of honor was called to order by Unit Commissioner, Kevin Thomson, and the posting of the colors (old glory and the unit flag) was accomplished by the brothers of Jacob and Micah: Cole Dorsten, Anthony Dorsten and Talon Sullivan. All assembled were then invited to participate in the reciting the Scout Oath, led by Troop 870 Committee Member,[http://arduino-pub.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1225822 The fading of a cultural touchstone- the Oval Office address], Kevin Bray, followed by an invocation offered by Micah s sister, Lexi Sullivan. Assistant Varsity Scout Coach Travis Gerritsen initiated the long standing tradition of calling all those in attendance who had previously been honored as Eagle Scouts to come forward and sit together in the Eagles Nest of seating set aside for this purpose. Fourteen individuals did so, thus exemplifying the long standing tradition of scouting excellence of this organization.

The two new Eagles were then sworn in by receiving the Eagle Charge from Troop 870 Scoutmaster Brandon Wilkinson before receiving their Eagle badges from Varsity Team 870 Coach Chad Hale.

The program benediction was offered by Jacob s grandmother, Sherry Kemp, and the colors were retired before dismissing the court to enjoy an abundance of cake, cookies, fruit, vegetables and other treats washed down with fruit drink.

Micah Sullivan s response to what he had learned along the trail to Eagle was Leadership: capturing people s attention, being able to express what you are trying to say to your peers and implementing what you teach to others in your life. 

When asked what she thought of her son obtaining the rank of Eagle, Katie Sullivan replied thoughtfully, That s a twofold answer. I look back and see the struggles it took, but the other side of it is that he stuck with it and overcame those struggles. I m just proud of him. When asked the same question at a different time, Bruce Sullivan, Micah s dad echoed his wife Katie stating, I m just proud of him. It was a lot of work and I m glad he stuck with it.
