The Chance of Peace in the Middle East<br><br>In reading JJ Goldberg article "As Bibi Slouches Toward September" the 2009 week (Forward, June 3, 2011) I was struck on the visceral hate oozing beyond his words; daggers aimed in the heart of Israel and its political establishment. Goldberg, like many American Jewish liberals can't tolerate the fact there are leaders in Israel with a clear vision for Israel's future, unwilling to compromise while using core values that are essential for survival. It so happens that it's those leaders who hold a number through coalition building and for that reason speak for almost all Israelis. One would feel that a liberal like Goldberg would respect the political will of the people. Nor could Goldberg accept with magnanimity Benjamin Netanyahu acceptance and warm welcome by Congress less a politician but as statesman addressing them as a possible equal offering his vision for peace and Israel's future.<br><br>Then in the 1990's, I remember this same person seated for peace talks with President Clinton and Israel. He actually won a Nobel Peace Prize as a result of these talks. At this time I thought that Palestine was ready for change with Israel, but that lasting peace would only come due to the Palestinians, not due to Israel. I thought whenever peace was broken, Palestinians were the source and Israel was taking action due to this.<br><br>To the North, town of Haifa posseses an active, working port, both commercial and naval.
