The tool that I'm planning to tell you about is for applying herbicides such as RoundUp. The biggest problems that people make when using non-selective herbicides like RoundUp is overspray getting the herbicide on plants that they did not want to spray, and over applying the product. You're using a significant amount of, if you apply to the point of run-off. The filter dabber can be a device useful for place treating weeds without getting the herbicide on other plants. Start by going for your hardware store and purchasing a little bit of 1- 1/2 PVC pipe. You only need a part 30 long, however they might make you purchase a 10' part. It's fairly cheap though. You'll need a plastic PVC cover for just one end of the pipe, and on the other end you'll need an adapter to convert the PVC pipe to a typical pipe thread. You'll have to allow the worker at the hardware store help you will find the best mixture of fittings to use. Things you need to complete is to have the PVC pipe paid down down-to a male hose type fitting. Hardware stores sell brass fittings that change standard pipe thread for the same thread utilized on garden hoses. Probably what you'll get is an adapter that will convert the 1-1/2 PVC to 3/4 male tube. Then an adapter to convert the 3/4 male pipe to a male yard house installation. You have to work with the solution to eliminate the picture and before you glue them shine in the PVC pipe and fittings. Just apply a coating of glue to both the tube and the fitting, once you have them washed, slip the fitting on and twist it at-the same time. Hold the fitting tight for 60 seconds and it will be stuck firmly. Cut a piece of pipe 30 long and glue the pipe cap on one end, and the PVC to pipe thread adapter on another end. Use a small amount of pipe dope or Teflon tape to the strings of the adapter, and screw the male garden house fitting onto the adapter. Mess the garden hose cover for the male garden hose fitting. Now back to the conclusion of-the pipe that you stuck the pipe cover to. Routine a very small hole right in the middle of the pipe cover. You may have to test a little with how big the hole you need, but ensure you start with an extremely small hole. I'd focus on 1/16. Cut a bit of normal home sponge in a about 1-1/2 square. What you're going to do is place this sponge on the small hole you drilled in-the tube cap, and secure it there by covering it with a bit of lightweight screen or mesh cloth. Maybe a good bit of an onion bag. You are able to secure the mesh to the PVC pipe with a hose clamp, o-r electrical tape. Replace the garden hose top and you have your self a pot dabber. The RoundUp may drain out the opening in the end of the tube cap and be consumed by the sponge. The herbicide will be kept by the vacuum in the pipe from working out too quickly as long as the garden hose cap is tight. Once the sponge is damp, you can begin dabbing weeds. Remember, you simply want the weeds not dripping wet and damp. As long as you dab them as you are leaving some RoundUp on the weeds, the herbicide should destroy them. If the sponge gets too dry you can loosen the cap a little to produce the vacuum and more herbicide will be introduced onto the sponge. Or it is possible to only turn the device upside-down and which should let some air into the chamber, thus releasing the vacuum.
